Is that from an actual game he ran?
It's from the Discord leaks, yes.

Have some more garbage sprite RPGing:

Also, while Jake rarely makes things up out of whole cloth, he always exaggerates. It's never-fail. If Jake says it was 35 degrees and he was in a flimsy dress, it was 50 and he was wearing something frumpy and long. If he says he was made to wait for three hours for something, it was half an hour. If he says he's been up since the crack of dawn, he means he rolled out of bed at 9 AM. If he says he hasn't eaten all day, he means "except a couple of light snacks and breakfast."

So "10-40 hours a week for 10 years in a group of all women" means approximately "3-4 hours a week for 4 years in a group with several troons."

I, for one, can't believe that Gen Con turned him down to do 8 slots of DMing.

And this is why he lied. Gen Con turned him down because of inexperience, so he made up an impossible lie to try and make up for it. He's whining to his friends on discord about how Gen Con turned down the most qualified Gnome who ever applied without realizing that everyone sees right through him.

It's another odd Jakeism. He assumes that seniority is all that matters. The quality of his work doesn't matter, he has the hours so he is owed the job. It's been a repeating pattern since the rpgamer days where he turns in terrible quality work and then freaks out when more talented people move on without him. It's one of the reasons he never improves, he does not understand what quality looks like.

With that said I really want to get Jake into a public pathfinder game with some experienced players. It would be interesting to see if he ever produces any original adventure paths, or just plays the same stuff over and over like an autist.

In his Twitch streams when he wasn't going through random games he's done nothing but play the same few games over and over. Risk of Rain 2, Final Fantasies IV-VI, Zelda, etc. He said he played the one Final Fantasy hundreds of times and I don't think he was exaggerating in that case. He's played one of them multiple times in the last couple weeks alone going by his Twitch arhive.

And I'm not saying like playing through and picking up where he left off kind of playing through over time. Or even revisiting a title he played a few times in his many years. I mean he starts over with these randomizers that do nothing but move items and crap around then plays through the same sections over and over mostly doing the fighting. AND he's familiar enough with how they work when he talks that he's clearly played them extensively like this for some time. He had those original Zelda randomizers near memorized that he could tell by the seed it used to make the map.

I wouldn't be shocked if he's not in any of the GenCon photos from last year of the various gaming tables less because he was avoiding cameras and more because he's too autistic to handle a quick pick up and play game with strangers for a short period.

I think Jake's a Risk of Rain fan back to the first one, it was during the free weekend he roped a couple people into playing and Hazel liked it and got it. It could be the only game they'll both play with each other I suppose. Jake admitted in that one eight hour stream I poked around in that he doesn't really like Tekken (or Street Fighter), during the same one he installed SFV because Hazel wouldn't play with him in anything but was playing with other people in their discord in SFV and since he had that split screen set up he could SEE and HEAR them having fun while he just fought early FFV enemies over and over.

That same eight hour stream (I know I'm being real specific) Jake goes totally silent for like the last three hours plus of it after Hazel leaves him to his Final Fantasy. (Or at least I couldn't find him saying anything by clicking around.) :story:

The very few snippets we've seen seem to indicate that he plays premade stuff.
That's a questionable conclusion (assuming it's based on all those premade maps) because it's pretty common practice to write your own campaign but crib say, a mostly unedited dungeon from official modules. This is an especially attractive option if you don't have either a stylus or a scanner because mapping using a mouse is a serious grind.

That's how most people play, in an established group you use the published material as a jumping off point. But, this is Jake we are talking about and pathfinder is a bit different.

Paizo publishes adventure paths, these are a six part adventures that describe a single arc. More like a novel then an open ended campaign. Just add a DM and characters and run them through the marble maze. Jake's repetitive gaming streams made me think he approaches roll playing as mechanically and repetitively as he does his video game time.

I wonder what would happen if a DM started an adventure path Jake was familiar with and then switched to something original halfway through. Would Jake freak out about how he was ruining the game?

Why does Jake even want to be a game designer if he just recycles the same stuff?

One of the screenshots from his streams showed him using a premade NPC too:

I mean, one could go on, but the dude clearly buys his RPGs off the rack.
