Median age of diagnosis for it is 67 years old, so most people who get it seem to just die of old age. Radiation therapy can have some unpleasant permanent side effects though

Nah, I think he's been legit too sick to stream. My mother in law has indolent lymphoma and it can be misdiagnosed since it's so slow moving. It's literally the DSP of cancers. It's slow and lazy, flies under the radar, and tries to make you think it's not them that's screwing you.

With all of his other problems that we knew about before, he probably already expected to only have another 20-25 years left at this point anyway. If he is starting a family around now, at least he'll be able to see his kid(s) graduate college and maybe get married. Maybe even more; he could plausibly make it into his 70s as medicine progresses.

I remember two or three years ago when he said he was sick and left it at that, I had a sneaking suspicion that it was probably going to be serious.
