A: Infantry uses fire and maneuver to close with and kill the enemy. They normally have air, artillery, and armor support.

A: Sure does. Got a ton of it in the Middle East. You have many officers and noncommissioned officers with such combat experience. And those lessons have been passed on to every infantryman.



Q: Do you believe BLM, Antifa, or any right-wing militia could defeat US infantry (Army/Marines/National Guard) in urban or other combat?

A: Not a chance. Individual infantrymen would be wounded or killed, but their opponents would be waxed. Infantry are not police. When they clear a building, they aren't going to announce their presence with words, more likely a boot to the door and a grenade thrown in. They WILL clear the building. And the next one, and the next one. Any dumbasses on rooftops who think they'll stop the infantry will be killed by snipers and/or air support. The infantry will kill the enemy until they are ordered to stop. Most of you may not realize it, but the US military is a very effective killing machine. So you see a platoon of "black militia" dressed in black, with small arms? So you see a platoon of right-wing militia with their small arms/machine guns, and their trucks? Care to guess how long they'd last against a platoon of trained infantry? Not real long. They would be out-trained and outgunned, not to mention outdisciplined. The normal reaction of most civilians when they hear an explosion or gunfire is to get away, freak out, or both. Infantry and their air/armor support go forward. Even most veterans in the militias with combat experience would be up against it. They may be able to fight effectively, but they might be fighting pretty much by themselves, when their non-veteran comrades realize this is no longer a game and beat feet out of there. Then it will be fight or flight time.

A: That's right. Behave. You'll live longer. The infantry/gunships/armor won't want to kill you, but they will do it.


(We aren't talking a civil war here. We're talking a city or cities where things have gotten so bad law enforcement can't effectively quell the disturbances. Personally have seen regular troops deployed in a rioting city - Detroit, 1967. Things started calming down real quick when the regulars showed up.)

Frankly, this is part of why I'd like to see some serious shit kick off in the west. We have all of Europe to our east, yet the infrastructure to really trade with them isn't really there. Instead the majority of our naval shipping is with Asia and China in particular. I'd much rather see the east coast get the boon and work with countries that... match our values a little bit more.

Nobody would win in such a war. The "winners" would face ongoing insurgency from the "losers", primarily urban combat.

A civil/race war, depending on the circumstances, could badly disrupt the threads that hold the country together and make it work. Food/medical supplies can't get where they need to go? Not good. Electrical lines taken down? Gas lines blown up? Bombings, shootings, IEDs? Things get bad enough, someone drops/shoots a nuke? Yeah, fuck that shit.

Everyone talking about the potential for "civil war" has not analyzed the lessons of the last 50 years of warfare.

Broadly speaking, there's three scenarios for a war:

1. State vs state action
2. Insurgent vs occupiers
3. Insurgent vs own state

#1 was the American Civil War. We aren't getting that again. No, I'm not wasting everyone's time explaining why.

#2 is what you had in Iraq. Insurgents vs terrorism is a semantic line, but the core point is that the insurgents hide within the civilian population. They rely on civilian support and infrastructure to be effective and escape being overwhelmed by state force.

(Vietnam was also #2, except the insurgents hid in the jungle. In America, there is little terrain that could hide a group from modern surveillance. So that option is either limited or impossible outside of lone fugitives.)

#3 is what happened in Syria, and it's what Antifa is trying right now. They suck at it, and the state is taking it very easy on them. But that's the model they're following: fight against fixed state objectives, hide within the civilian population, use civilian infrastructure to plan and carry out attacks.

Keep in mind that the success of strategies #2 and #3 rely on the opposing army not being willing to attack civilians, or at least being unwilling to crack down on it enough to find the insurgents.

The Boogaloo wouldn't be any of these. It would be a 4th category: insurgent vs insurgent within the same civilian population. And that's not a sustainable model.

In this thread, I and many others have said stay defensive, guard your homes, etc. Don't go out and fight. This advice is not because you are unable to effectively fight Antifa, but because right now you are not allowed to be effective. You are only allowed to be effective if they "invade" and come into your neighborhood, business, or home.

What happens at the end of every BLM march through a suburb? The assholes get in their cars and drive home. They return into the population, regroup, and come back out the next day.

So what happens if there's an open warfare declared, and the right goes weapons-free? Those people get followed home.

Antifa merrily doxes any opponent they find. We do the same. Antifa uses this for virtual attacks--slander on social media, deplatforming, getting them fired, etc. We archive and laugh. It's impossible to stop this aspect of information warfare.

...what do you think happens when the militia types feel free to operate, and they have dox in hand?
...how long do you think the logical conclusion of this dynamic goes on, before martial law is declared and real police states get implemented?

This is not the kind of warfare anyone should wish for. It is not pretty or noble. And it can not continue without escalating into catastrophe, faster than anyone on either side can control it.
