I understand Greg resenting June for being such a unintelligent political sperg. That kind of quality in a person is highly unattractive and just plain miserable. I think that June's behavior and trajectory into the commie left was something of a last straw for Greg, and I don't blame him from that perspective. It appears that every waking breath for June these days is "MUH SOCIALISM REEEE. DADDY BERNIE REEEE!" Would you want to marry someone like that? Of course not. It's super easy to see why Greg increasingly made even less of an effort to see her. At least Greg does have other interests, as sad as they are (like collecting Star Wars shit, lol). With June ... There seriously appears to be absolutely nothing else but politics to her.

That said, maybe June wouldn't be acting as horribly if Greg had not proposed and then never made any lick of a move to go forward with actually getting married? I think that part of the reason why June is so creepily obsessed with politics right now is because she literally has nothing else to do these days, and appears to have zero other interests or hobbies. This is her entire life. Maybe if Greg had, you know, made any sort of effort to at least get them living together, then June's trajectory wouldn't be as crazy.

They were in a very toxic relationship, as most people had figured out years ago. They both walked away from the relationship as even worse people than when they started dating. Amazing.
