Outside of the buggy menu, the rest of the game works and I was able to play it.

And almost immediately, I found out how to kill Osana at the beginning of the day and get away with it lol.

That's what I tried to do, except the game froze me until Raibaru could break my arm.

Playing the game like it is meant to be played

She has an awful lot of janky movements. After a little scene you can watch of Osana giving Senpai a lunch, both Osana and Senpai sit down on a bench. Raibaru is still in "Follow Osana" mode so she sprints around the corner she was watching from and clips entirely into both the bench and Osana, spins around once or twice then calmly walks back around the corner and sits on a bench there.

Edit: Also, the vfx look really annoying and eye-straining when you're on the roof.

I love how Osana's hair doesn't obey any laws of physics and ends up clipping through shit or just refusing gravity, especially once she goes ragdoll.
You can see this shit on quoted screenshot and even in some of the release video's footage.

I try loading the game and I instantly get a black screen that I can't progress from.
Amazing demo, I wanna buy the game now and give Alex all my cash

Edit: It's happened 3 times in a row, I literally can't fucking play it lmao

That's what I thought too.

If it's playing music, I think it's just the visuals that are the problem. Just press enter and the menu should function just fine.

If it doesn't work, then you're screwed until Alex 'fixes' it.

If its playing the music wait a bit mine took like 5-6 minutes to finally load the a weird looking loading screen

So even if he manages to at least make the game functional after six flipping years, Osana can be killed in just 2 fucking minutes? All those complicated features to kill Osana that Alex was so proud of were in vain because you can exploit the hell out of this mess of a game?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! EVEN AT THE ACTUAL GAME DESIGN ALEX MANAGES TO BE A FAILURE!!!

Broke: people can exploit the AI to beat the game, therefore the game is bad
Woke: people need to exploit the AI to beat the game, therefore the game is bad

I don't know about that yet because I've mostly been screwing around to attempt to break stuff, but she has little conversations around campus with Raibaru/Senpai that are fully voiced.
I tried to download this, but using the launcher it only got to 13% in like 20 mins and downloading it directly and unpacking it had it stall for some resource it couldn't find. My computer's not a gaming computer but it's also not some ten year old piece of garbage either.

Come on, Alex.

Here's everything that changed codewise between builds. It's a git diff so it's kind of unreadable but if there's new funny to be found, it's in here somewhere.
I suggest searching it for funny words, 'toilet' and 'panties' are good ones to try.
Weird whitespace formatting in these is due to the comment stripping I had to do to get them to diff correctly, not anything on Alex's side.

For anyone unfamiliar with Git, lines with a '-' prefix were in the old build but aren't in the new one. Lines prefixed with '+' are in the new build but not the old.

E: Gotta note, both Visual Studio and VS Code both really fucking suck at regex replaces. VS took over an hour to regex-remove comments from both builds (they were just autogenerated comments before every function/member from dnspy but differed between builds due to them including offsets) and VC refuses to replace more than 10K instances in a mass search-replace.

E2: Also studentscript is 595KB now. The horror.

E3: Reup, stripped out copyrighted non-alex code. Whoever 'tayx' is doesn't need to have their entire library in the diff.

So I downloaded the demo and oh god he managed to make the game look worse. The bloom and lighting look terrible, it’s like he slapped one of those shitty filters from a free photo editing app onto his game. I can’t believe the shitty debug builds from the past 6 years look better than this.

FPS was about as inconsistent as you’d expect, but I also noticed that my PC got really hot while I was playing too, about as hot as it does when I play something like Death Stranding (which runs a consistent 60-70 FPS on High for me) which I at first thought was an issue with my PC, but nope it turns out that’s just Alex’s master coding. The bloom really pushed my GPU more than it should’ve.
I tried dismembering Osana but I end up getting a bug which makes you frozen and spawns a unlimited amount of legs.
Yeah I got that too lmao

Being able to kill Osana early with some cheeky actions is hardly a failure of game design, if anything, these sorts of systems inevitably have these cases, and finding them to the players enjoyment should be encouraged, not discouraged.

Alex's real failure is this shit

Rather than feeding the player clues, hints, maybe a first rival tutorial, you just buy a strategy guide in game. Its like he's never played a hitman level without the wiki open, and decided that it should be an integral feature. Then, rather than having to lampshade, hint at, and provide in game clues and guidance to the actions, you just have to go perv out on some stairs and do the provided busywork. That, is stupid fucking design. Making the currency pantyshots is just the icing on the stupid cake.

Thanks for the help, and I think I may have found the reason why the menu is like this.

The draw distance is set to fucking 0 by default.
I had to go into the settings and set it, now it's working.
Why there's an option for fucking zero is mind-boggling

...what? I don't have an option for zero...350m was the default for me.

To be fair, finding a quick strategy to finish the game is not what i'm laughing at. After all, a lot of games are perfected and analyzed to achieve this goal. What its really funny to me is that the structure of the game it's so repetetive and overall badly put together that people already figured out how to cheese the game only twenty minutes after being released.

When going into the settings, I only got the options of 0 or 10m, only was able to get to 350m by setting everything to default. I've got no fucking clue what's going on entirely, but my assumptions are that the file that contains all of the settings like resolution, draw distance, v-sync, etc fucks up when you first start the game sometimes, and then the filestream just kind of sets it to certain defaults that aren't actually the game's proper defaults. I'm not entirely sure if that's the case, but that's what I've come up with
