You underestimate teenagers' ability to find out about drama and get online. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Vickers can threaten the Gunt with welfare checks unless they get to talk to Faith and in those conversations, the plot can be hatched. Or she could call them from a payphone. Or buy a burner. Or seduce and then incapacitate Gator and take his phone. Or confide in Andy when the Gunt is sleeping, like Nora did. @Ahalfwaycrook could inform her via a DM on Wattpad, Fapfics, DisneyFics or DisneyFapFics which she could log into using Ralph's old laptop. She could steal Ralph's Mum's phone. She could flee to one of the less dilapidated houses in the street and demand they call the cops, accusing Ralph of domestic violence, drug abuse, and violating animal welfare ordinances by mistreating Gator. She could visit 80s Girl in LA, offer to do her hair and then remove 80s Girl's restaining bolt. She could fashion the laces from her kid brother's shoes into a garrote and throttle the Gunt like Leia throttled Jabba the Hut.

thats the thing though, Faith seems to want to use ralph as a father and a paypig and if ralph can isolate her enough to where its "abandon motherhood with the only man wholl take you after the gunt tape" or accept you cant use the internet unmonitored she might view that as an acceptable compromise she has to grit and bear. i hope she throws her weight around but even psychotic young girls can be overly emotional and weak willed in at least some areas.

Yes, and she better remember that it's legal, as far as I know, to record people if they are in YOUR house or car. So, he can tape her extorting him and use it against her. He records EVERYTHING to get leverage on people. She needs to admit the reality that she has no hope of making it on her own. Not a fucking chance. Go home, get a two year technical education so she can make enough to live, get meds and therapy using her parents medical care, and get the fuck away from her toxic family once and for all. But, she's a dumb 18-year-old so she will probably just get pregnant with guntlings.

If Faith really is this master manipulator controlling everyone around her with 4d chess mind games, she should be careful. When you play with people in this way it's always a dangerous game. Ralph might not be smart enough to outmaneuver her intellectually, but he has serious anger issues and he's an alcoholic. Women who try to control men like this with mindfuckery end up as battered women. If a man like Ethan cannot control his woman psychologically he will become petulant and enraged, something will snap, he'll get trashed and he'll hit her.

Her games might work while he's sober and thinking rationally, but as we all know, these moments of clarity are not the norm for Ralph. I don't think he is the sort of person who can really be manipulated in this fashion. He is more like a wild Hippo - an undisciplined beast of pure rage and violence. If he feels slighted by a smaller transgressor he will use his physical leverage to defeat it. With this being the case, so long as they are together, I have to assume that either Ralph is controlling her or their bond is genuine.

If she tries to mindfuck him into obedience he will eventually snap and give her a black eye. Let's not forget how he got his felony in the first place.

the thing about these types of relationships is it usually isnt just one side being complete trash and the other having no power, usually they settle on some fucked arrangement that involves both sacrificing something unreasonable, which they mistake as just normal give and take because it makes their relationship function albeit unhealthily. Faith probably does have enough leverage and is pushing Ralph around in some aspects and Ethan has enough control and appeals to "our luve" or "muh 'motions" to keep her in denial about her choices to the point she doesnt want to drop that nuke on ethan, and if she refuses to drop that nuke hes probably forcing her to accept things like no outside contact that she can only break by dropping that nuke.

its a really fucked situation and i do think this is whats happening, yeah Faith is getting all the trips and boyfriends and disney handbags she wants but shes also never going to talk to anyone gunty doesnt approve of who he sees as a threat as he is just the type of person to risk everything on a "well do it, if you want this to all end" proposition (see flamenco, and well any of his e-relationships really)

The law you cited is specifically US Code, which is federal; since both parties (Faith and Ethan) both reside in Virginia, the applicable state law on extortion would apply, should scenario 2 be the actual scenario happening. It should be noted that the revenge porn incident is a class 1 misdemeanor, while extortion is a class 5 felony under Virginia law. So in a situation like this, Faith would have a lot more to lose than Ralph would, and actually might mean that Ralph would have free reign once it happened.

That's in a vacuum, of course; you have to consider things like juries and the like, obviously, which would probably fuck Ralph over in the long run. But also once must consider that the longer this goes on, the less likely a prosecutor is to file charges against Ralph, and at this point if there's a bad breakup (which is 100% going to happen) then that gives his defense team something to work with. At that point, it looks like regret only insofar as she's a spurned lover, and that up until that point she consented.
