Agreed. The problem is that attempts to do so backfire. For example, tell a young girl who just turned 18 that she shouldn't sell her body in person or online for money because this path isn't necessary or in her best interests in the short term or long term. You'd be right, but the right people have probably gotten to her first and already instilled a culture that would only make her respond, "Misogynist! You're oppressing my right to be a Sex Worker!"

Similarly with boys/men, discouraging porn has been given such a bad name by a lot of conservative people that are just brain dead. You know, the hypocritical types that deride porn as the worst evil but can't get away from their wives they hate fast enough to watch it all the time, and the religious who are guilty of a thousand worse things, etcetera. And then when boys and men do develop a culture of discouraging each other from consuming pornography, that takes a dogmatic extreme, too. There's a reason movements like "nofap" gain traction. (Sure, porn's not doing you any favors. Now you have to go hundreds of days without so much as ejaculating by the virtue of your dominant hand even once, and if you do, you've relapsed like an addict and it's a sign of weakness!) And to a much greater extent than support groups for men that just encourage you to quit porn and masturbate in healthy moderation.

The point is, people think in extremes.

And the culture that supports and encourages prostitution, whatever sleek internet fueled form in takes in 2020, was clever enough to exploit this.

All women know they're 100% doing it for money but they've managed to justify it, because they know deep down they're only inclined to sell their bodies for money instead of having intimacy/sex in a fulfilling relationship with someone they trust and care about because they don't value themselves and their bodies anymore than their parents who fucked them up to wind up like that in the first place.

So, of course ~Pro-"Sex worker" culture~ is going to inextricably associate itself with feminism/women's rights as a whole and try to convince as many girls as possible the following: that they aren't inclined to whore themselves because they want easy money and don't value themselves, but because they're simply making their own valid contribution to society (as opposed to exploiting lonely men) in a valid manner and there's evil people that are trying to take this right away from you that they need to resist.

Of course, trouble is, the vast majority of the vocal "Anti Prostitution!! Anti porn!!" types are morons themselves which only makes the ~"Sex work" culture's~ job easier. It's a rare thing for people to comprehend what is the relatively simple situation of a girl inclined to do the world's oldest profession in a plain, nuanced and nonjudgmental fashion because there's so much baggage, fears, and negative associations on the topic of sex alone, let alone pornography and young women making the irreversible decision to whore themselves out. And at the same time, it's baggage we should be sympathetic to. Every whore had a father.

No, porn is just a passtime, similar to playing video games or watching TV. Like many others have said, it's perfectly healthy in moderation. It can even be helpful to fulfill some fantasies you are unable to IRL with your GF or BF due to some stigmas or whatever other reason.

I’m not sure why this is considered true. It was a concerted and prolonged intellectual effort in the west to bring about the modern sexual revolution, aided by advances in medicine which removed many of the natural checks on sexual promiscuity. Assisted by the legacy of WW2 and the promiscuity which occurred in the post-war period. It was not a spontaneous outpouring of rebellion against sexual repression.

What evidence is there that suppressing wanton sexual urges leads to some kind of explosion of pent up sexual frustration? Anecdotes about preachers daughters and shitty Freudian conjecture?

It's amazing that we have the technology to have thousands of porn videos sent directly to your phone in real time, yet 99% of women in porn look like total dogshit with tattoos, piercings, cut marks and either methed-out skeletons or slam-whale figures.

How did (((they))) manage to fuck up showing hot chicks to horny dudes?
