I don't understand what the vaccine obsession is.
Statistically speaking a treatment would be more efficient because its easier to treat the 1-3% of people that are actually severe cases as they come than to try and vaccinate 40-70% of the population in a short window.
But nooooooo... "Only a vaccine can save us!"...
call me fedora but if anything the whole corona craze proved one thing: how absolute fucking stupid people are. I mean you always have that knowledge in the back of your head, but seeing it live in action, on that scale no less, is completely different.
remember when it was all about OH NOES GLOBAL TRAVEL WE NEED TO BAN IT SO THE SICK DON'T COME HERE (but trump is racist for doing it).
then when cases popped up stateside it was all about OMG WE NEED TESTS WHY CAN'T I GET TESTED HOW DO I KNOW I'M NOT SICK - which was even more retarded because what's a test gonna do? even if you have it and don't need hospitalization you're told to go home and stay the fuck away from people. my assumption is they thought they'll just get pricked with a needle and everything will be peachy in an instant.
after the "no vaccine" reality kinda set in it was all about OH GOD YOU NEED TO STAY INSIDE YOU'RE KILLING ME WALKING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET which was conveniently forgotten when virtue signaling about fentanyl floyd became much more important.
right now were in the middle of CALL THE POLICE YOU GOTTA WEAR THE MASK YOU MURDERER slowly shifting to "miracle vaccine will fix it, just like a flu shot, because no one ever dies from the flu!". till they finally figure out what a lot of people did fucking months ago: there is no cure. and tbh that's when things start to get interesting, once the information slowly seeps in and they realize they went broke and retarded over something that's pretty much a bad cold. given their current track record I expect that around early 2021, otoh people are notoriously shit at reflection, so...
