I don't understand what the vaccine obsession is.
Statistically speaking a treatment would be more efficient because its easier to treat the 1-3% of people that are actually severe cases as they come than to try and vaccinate 40-70% of the population in a short window.

The point of the article, and the position of the majority of people in the thread, was that the threat of the Coronavirus has been misrepresented and the response has been disproportionate. The entire time, world governments have been acting as though EVERYONE is at risk and we'll all die if we take so much as one breath outside of our homes, yet the reality has been the exact opposite.

Unless you're old as balls AND have two or three other risk factors, it's practically impossible for you to die due to the Chinkflu, AND if you have normal hygiene practices you're very unlikely to get infected in the first place. Ordinary people are at almost no risk.

I was reading about the second wave in Australia. Almost all the deaths have occurred in nursing homes, a pattern repeated over and over in the west. A staff member gets the coof, all 'close contacts' are immediately stood down leaving the home massively understaffed. The residents receive little to no care, they're not washed or fed, they don't receive their meds sometimes for days on end. Some of them suffer horrific falls and are left lying in their own filth. Wounds aren't attended to and many suffer urinary tract infections. There was an awful example of one poor woman, who had end stage cancer, with ants crawling from her leg dressing, and who hadn't had anything to eat or drink for 4 days. They tested her for Covid before she died and she was negative, but if she had been positive she'd have 'Covid-19' put on her death certificate as cause. What would the mortality rate in nursing homes be if we ordered all the staff to go home every time there was a flu outbreak? This shit makes my blood boil, to abandon the most vulnerable people in our society in this way is pure evil.

Except, no, that is not what the CDC said. Did you even look at the chart you are claiming to have read? I explained how this works, let me do it again.

The chart shows what is on the death certificates of people who died of covid. This doesn't mean that they were high-risk necessarily or anything, it is just the conditions that lead to their death. If someone gets admitted to the hospital with covid, covid gets added to their chart. If they develop other issues along with covid, for example, respiratory failure and renal failure (two common issues that come from it), those also get added to their chart. If they then die, those should all be listed on their death certificate along with covid. In 6% of cases, it was just covid listed and not the other things that caused them to die. That was likely due to a coding error by the doctor. It happens.

Then again, you think covid doesn't cause people to develop secondary and tertiary issues, so I am arguing with a wall here. You are either really ignorant or just being a troll here

So here, after a little increase since July that got people REEEEEEing about evil assholes going on holiday and coming back and thus causing a second wave that will absolutely kill us all this time, it looks like it's already fizzing out.
Buuut we had a nice big anti-Covid protest on Saturday where a bunch of totally non-glowing people staged storming the parliament so now any criticism of COVID19 measures around here is further cemented as being a Nazi opinion.
Combine that with increased amounts of articles about people getting infected a second time and the narrative is quite clear, there's no immunity, no vaccine possible, and this is the new normal.

We're currently at almost a million tests per week. Adding 100k tests per week, yet the numbers are dropping, even the rate of positive tests. 0.7% or so positive tests, and I've read somewhere that these tests have a false positive rate of over 1%, which I doubt.
Either way, what I'm saying is that the numbers don't matter, the whole thing is, by now, a continued exercise in propaganda.

It's caused millions of people to gain weight if you look at the obesity stats for this year. But nobody cares about the negative effects of obesity on public health, hell, obesity is considered a good thing and people are healthy at any size.

It is highly likely more people will die or live a much lower quality of life as a result of the response to the Chinavirus than to the Chinavirus itself thanks to the increase in stress, mental illness, missed cancer screenings, obesity, and any number of factors.

You are missing the point. They are saying that in 6%, covid was the only thing listed on the death certificate. The other stuff listed is complications from covid. Stuff listed on the death certificate is not always a pre-existing condition.

If you go to the hospital with a knife stab wound and die of blood loss and shock in the hospital, you are going to have "knife wound", "shock" and "blood loss" on your death certificate. It doesn't mean you had blood loss and shock as a pre-existing condition, it just means it lead to your death (even though the knife wound caused it). It's not a tough concept. I know you are slow in the mind, but even you can get this.

For skiing/snowboarding Vail is doing a bullshit reservation system for people on their Epic pass, but Mammoth Mountain in California thank the Lord came out and said they're not down for such malarky. My local hill which I still need to renew my season pass for is instituting a reservation system for daily tickets but passholders can drop in any time.

I managed to get in 25 days this season and would have probably managed to knock out 30+ if covvid hadn't come around, so needless to say fuck China for derailing my plans.

It looks bad on them, humanity, Nature. But things are what they are and will be and our hopes and wishes have nothing to do with that in the end, no matter how well-intentioned.

I wouldn't call myself a prepper by any means, at least not in any real substantial sense. I mostly stock supplies in case of general emergency like if I were to lose my job or something for a long period of time. I think it's always smart to expect and plan for the worst, because if you do that life will never disappoint you. Now granted I get teased a lot for thinking that way, people call me a pessimist and all that but in the end I'm having the last laugh.

Real talk, I'm thinking about investing in having a new house built soon and I'm seriously considering having a smallish underground bunker built just in case of a serious emergency considering that my current efforts turned out so profitable.
