I'm hearing a lot of people talking about an impending collapse of the US dollar within the next 60 days. Supposedly state governments are hoarding food in anticipation of wide-scale food shortages and looting. Thoughts?

This winter there might be a corn and grain problem. Meat packing plants have had multiple covid outbreaks. I don't think it's time to run for the hills or anything, but maybe grab an extra bag of rice.
grain is because of the derecho, the Midwest got rocked a little.

I very much doubt it. Not a reason to avoid having multiple months of food, though. Sure, the debt is really not great, but the US still has the confidence of lots of investors, and that's all that matters.

The dollar is likely to keep dipping as we keep pumping the printers and the Eurozone continues to reopen and recover, but it's not going to be a full-on collapse. State governments hoarding food would be retarded, since the fed could just waltz in and force them to share if it was an actual problem.

Sounds like complete bullshit. I know people with nothing to do are going apeshit looting, and the press is saying "the sky is falling" while trying to make BLM/antifa look as good as possible so Biden gets elected (Spoiler he won't get elected)...
...but it's not going to collapse the USA, too many corporations, countries are invested here, too many powerful people moved here from other places, and the US is military power of the planet. You shitting me?

I've been hearing it a number of people, both in person and online. My initial reaction was one of skepticism, thinking it sounds like fear-mongering so I'm not saying I believe it but I'm not saying that I'd completely dismiss it without getting some insight on it, though, considering how crazy this year has been and how the riots continue to escalate and will likely continue regardless of the election results. I think people are confused by the word "happenings" in the title. There's a section for Happenings on the front page and that's what Null was talking about being unable to update while he was away. It wasn't about the Happenings subforum.
