That's perhaps not false, given the various groups the DNC accommodates. That said, that's not necessarily advantageous, and can in fact be detrimental in policy making.
As someone who doesn't live in the US looking in at this election cycle it's really jarring to see how little buzz there is around Biden and Harris. They may as well just run a pair of mannequins called Not and Trump and hope for the best.
The smattering of people at that Biden presser yesterday should have them shitting their pants. No one cares. Surely there was a better candidate?

It's an ego-booster. If you're a lefty, you want to do something, you want to feel excitement for something in politics. Virtue signaling is part of that, and a yard sign gives you that small dopamine hit because you believe, "I accomplished something! I showed the world what they should do!"
If you're just morosely sitting at home, with no real friends and a heavy investment in a virtual world, you aren't feeling or doing something that picks up your spirits. And that might matter on election day; you might be too depressed to get out and cast your vote. Small stuff like this keeps voters engaged with the campaign, or rather, it lets them self-direct their own illusory connection.
And deluded, happy, connected people are more likely to vote. That's all it's ever been about.

You've just realized the DNC's 2020 strategy. There is no enthusiasm for Biden and they're trying to force enthusiasm for Harris because their platform is "not Trump." Its absolutely pathetic.

I'll say this: there was a lot of "Trump BAD" in 2016, but to be fair, there were a lot of people that were genuinely excited to see a woman become president. Regardless of what you think about Hillary, there were people out there voting FOR Hillary.
Nobody in 2020 is voting FOR Biden. That's why excitement, especially on the Democrat side, is way down.
On the Republican side, visible excitement is way down, but I believe that's due to people being more afraid to voice support for Trump publicly. Hell, the rioters are attacking people that give them full support if it's "not enough."

Given that we've agreed that the leadership of the DNC isn't chocked full of mentally deminished idiots then why are they acting the way they are? Why are they allowing their candidate to do no events, no rally's and no public appearances less then 60 days before the election? How do you reconcile the two facts?
Often in military battles your opponent seems to make a critical mistake only for you to find out that he's operating on information that you don't have. IE: you see your opponents flank thin out and your launch your attack there only to find out that your opponent weaken his flank because he knew he had another division coming up from the rear to re-enforce it. At the time it appeared that your opponent had made a mistake when really he was just making decisions with information you weren't aware of.
So I will ask again. Are the Democratic leadership idiots?

There isn't a playbook for this situation, they aren't technically supposed to be in this situation at all. If they admit that the primary elected someone who isn't fit for office then the whole primary process needs to be rehauled, which will anger the bernie bros even more since they have been saying it for several years now. What needs to be understood here is that they give way more of a shit about appeasing the rich people who fund the DNC than actually winning the election. The rich people rely on democrats to get legislative favortism. If they have to cede ground to a populist candidate like bernie sanders then the whole operation is fucked and the rich people will take their shekels to the republicans. They would rather run and lose on this shitty platform than have to add medicare for all to the party platform and shun all the $$$ from insurance company execs and lobbyists.

All the people I remember being so excited to elect the first woman president on social media have been completely silent on Biden. Worse, the few who have mentioned him just make fun of him for child sniffing. Even people who have posting Trump derangement stuff for the past 4 years only mention Biden to explicitly say they don’t support him because he’s a creepy child sniffer or a racist. I’ve seen no mention of Kamala from any of them. There’s no enthusiasm there.

I think people here underestimate how wide spread their support is and how deeply some people hate Trump.
Many people rely solely on mainstream media to learn what events have happened and how to interpret those events. Even when they see the lies or the omissions it doesn't stick, because they go back to hours and hours of people telling them they are evil to their core of they falter in their faith.
Why bother campaigning when you have a 24/7 virtual rally going on multiple news channels.
