It's way way easier for the Republicans to compromise a little on, say, social policies and move an inch or so to the left than it would be for the Democrats to move themselves back towards the centre due to how they've painted themselves into a corner by appealing to what are at the end of the day, violent thuggish extremists.

The same thing happened with Labour when they were taken over by Militant's Reunion Tour the Corbynites. They left so many policy areas undefended or unopposed the Tories instead shifted themselves into, not so much "parking their tanks on Labour's lawn" but outright dug trenches and bunker systems so retaking those positions and not looking like "red Tories" is nigh on impossible.

Only if the war were on the style of the first Civil War, where states seceded to form a new country and there was some sort of demarcation, meaning campaigns, set-piece battles, etc. Any civil war we'd see here would most likely be a series of smaller engagements, largely fought in urban areas. Battles, in my opinion, will be within states rather than between states. My guess is the civil war wouldn't last long. The Feds/military would come in against BLM/Antifa. Not going to need bomber raids, cruise missile attacks, etc. This war would be most likely fought by ground forces, with artillery, armor, gunship and attack aircraft support. Nuclear weapons and nuclear strike forces will remain very well protected.

It would be a very brutal, militia on militia battles largely within suburbia and city limits. It's the main place of the "blue cities" which are the cause of, and incubator for a lot of these ideologies and thoughts. It's much like a fringe website speculated in a Muslims vs Rest of Britain war, with one population confined to cities you'd be able to isolate those enclaves and hem them in via either cutting off logistic routes, or confining them from being able to leave with long range sniper attacks.

It'd be a bit like the seige of Sarajevo writ large.

And as with every compulsory labor system in the history of humanity, such as the draft, rich people will be able to buy themselves into it or buy themselves into the cushiest possible parts of it. The problem with almost all these plans is they rely on people to act in ways no human beings have ever acted. Something like communism can only work in small homogenous groups, like kibbutzim in Israel, i.e. basically mini-ethnostates where everyone is agreed on how things should go and has nearly completely shared interests. Over the level of a Stone Age tribe we need things like money because when you can't agree on anything else, you can at least agree on the value of money.

Putting all the children together and raising them communally created reverse sexual imprinting, and thus none of them had any attraction to each other to maintain the population. In fact the vast vast majority of Kibbutzkinde marry far outside the community, or marry from other similar communities.

Nearly every system in place today has been through natural evolutionary processes in what does and does not work. Nearly all current "new" ideologies can only be sustained with the current level of technological development and comparative lack of resource scarcity in the western world. The split second it leaves the land of peace and plenty it collapses and simply can't be sustained or entertained in anything not the West.

I think Scott Walker would be who the republicans bring forward. He’s probably the most high profile name available, he’s still young, and he only recently got booted from the governors mansion by Evers by only a 1.1% margin (very suspiciously Milwaukee “found” just enough votes to get Evers the Win). Most importantly though, he shut this rioting shit down hard when he was in office. 2016 police shooting. People burned shit on night one and he activated the guard immediately and committed as much as needed.

When the cop got no charges, he had planned things out with Sheriff David Clarke and had the guard activated and ready to go. Clarke didn’t fuck around, he arrested every single person who blocked traffic. I guarantee that if Walker was still in office, things would have been shut down after night 1. He wouldn’t have done this “250 guard” shit. He would’ve sent at least 500-1000 and called in the feds immediately to help (maybe not the additional 1k but he would’ve taken the FBI and homeland security boys for sure). There’s a lot to be said about having a supportive governor and state DOJ, and I think the Kenosha PD would’ve been a lot more firm earlier on if they had a governor that had their back.

Scott Walker lost alot of the rural voters I know from some of the shit he pulled over the years. People who vote R just didn't vote for him but also didn't vote for evers. At least that was back in 2011 but some rural people have long memories.

Don't feel as if it has to be a permanent choice, or forcing yourself to adopt a entirely new belief structure. In WW2 Finland teamed up with Nazi Germany for assistance in preventing getting invaded and crushed by the Soviet Union, but they didn't give up their democracy or force themselves to become a fascist country. So, just think of it as history repeating itself by teaming up with Nazis to defeat the attempted communist takeover.
