Early Duck Show appealed to Normies for 3 reasons:
0) duck’s cribbing of the “Duckman” character
1) the expert pacing of “Goss” (the term for gossip about the Maddox fallout)
2) Duck rising above the (as he told it) wildly unfair deplatforming in the LA comedy scene
3) Duck’s unrepentant love of free speech
(3) is out the fucking window once Dax started having a fucking hissy fit about any posts about him. That combined with Dax’s consistantly being an unreliable narrator took out (2). It’s also hard to look up to someone that fragile as a comedy maverick. (1) had a surprisingly long shelf life, thanks to Maddox’s consistent terrible decisions, but it’s hard to cheer for duck about anything these days.

The Dick Show requires a bad guy to really be good. It can still be good without one, but if you mix in the COVID-19 lockdown keeping Dick from going out and being his usual jackass self the stories he has access too start drying up, and soon enough you're just looking down the barrel of a loli debate and nothing else.

Also Dick gives shitty advice to NEETs who take him seriously, which is kind of based in its way especially if they fuck up their lives even more so as to become lolcows, but the advice Drex gives is generally actually good, ironically for the women he gives it to, i.e. don't be a fucking thot, don't waste your prime years riding the cock carousel only to be amazed when you hit your 30s and nobody wants you as anything but a slam pig. It's kind of ironic how much life imitates art, and how much Dick's life resembles Duckman.
