I agree with you .I do have my expectations down a lot more but I'm seeing it from the KV point of view .
With their NPC programing if they cant go 17-0 every other sentence, it's what they fear.
They built a year and a half on Vic lost and if appeals turn around for him,they will chimp out in a nuclear way and Ron will really shit.

This is harder to imagine than Vic completely winning the lawsuit. Unless Vic has some amazing handshake deal where Funko will go right ahead with production he just needs to show support with it. Highly unlikely but it would be funny nonetheless. Especially with that design, gotta have all kinds of licensing issues.
Honestly, I think he would be better off doing his own off brand figure. He'd probably make more money even if it won't have the reach that Funko has and name value. I can't imagine Funko doesn't get a ton of the profits. Despite being some of the blandest and mediocre figures on the market, people still salivate for that brand. And as already seen people scoff if it's not the name brand.

could these companies even pursue legal action against Funko and/or Vic for this thing?
I mean it's such an amalgamation of things that the only reason I know that's Ed's arm or Qrow's scythe or Broly's severed green doggo ear is because it's a figure of Vic and the roles he voiced. I'm not a lawyer let alone an expert on copyright law, but isn't this figure so transformative that it's hard for any one company to claim it infringes on their copyright? The worst I can think of is an argument could be made that they don't want to be associated with Vic's tarnished reputation but even that seems a stretch.

Hmmm... I didn't think people would care so much over a Funko pop of all things... Real or fake, does it even matter? It's merchandise for his fan store. Shouldn't be that big of a deal. But if it's just a knock off of sorts, Vic could probably have a better looking figure made. Funko Pops are ugly in my opinion anyways.
