I wouldn't call myself a prepper by any means, at least not in any real substantial sense. I think it's always smart to expect and plan for the worst, because if you do that life will never disappoint you. Somehow, I suspect that prosecuting someone for exposing a congresswoman doing something wrong will not make her look any better in the public's eye. Though, given her district, I doubt much of anything will hurt her re-election chances.

Edit: that said, I'm sure the business has signs informing people that there are cameras on the premises.

There really needs to be a goddamn term limit for any and all political positions, Pelosi is a lich queen and still keeps getting re-elected despite her constant incompetence. The chaotic side of me secretly hopes they actually try and pull shit with the ballots this season (if they go through with mail-in votes), see how the everyday American reacts when the DNC spits on their most patriotic of rights - it'd be schadenfreude of galactic proportions.

Not even Nancy Pelosi complies with these oppressive measures. Newsom does these things because he can, and he gives not flying fuck one about the people of CA.

Fervently hope President Trump doesn't give CA one penny to make up for the missed tax revenues. CA's been doing this to itself for six months now. They don't deserve any money. Sort of like killing your parents and then asking for help because you're an orphan.

Seriously, hope the numbers come up soon. The house arrest doesn't affect me much, but it's the last straw of 25 years of idiocy and bullshit.

Ugg. So dumb. My family-owned gym is still closed... most of my mall is still closed... I can't imagine how stores are hanging on.

My friend in Texas says they're pretty much back to normal. Is it just California and Michigan that have gone psycho-power-trip?

It's not fake. At least the concern in the beginning was very real. Problem is that quite a few people got a very nice taste of power trying to deal with the pandemic, and they don't like giving that up anymore. The virus seems to have fizzed out during the summer. Maybe it spread through a large part of the population asymptomatically, with the hot summer helping the immune system, and now the low level of exposure results in a better immune response and thus the decline in deaths? Dunno, really not my expertise, but I think it might turn into another Flu, recurring during winter with potentially very harsh results for people with compromised immune systems, but healthy people not having too many problems.
Might also be different strains currently spreading. Honestly, it's just a whole shitshow and you can't trust anybody on anything when it comes to this.
Right now our numbers here in Germany are quite in decline. And yet our Lords and Masters are still claming we're right in the SECOND WAVE and shit. I don't know.
To be honest, I was not really affected by the Holocoof. I went to work as usual, my gym has been open for like two months again, and besides wearing a mask when grocery shopping or going to the pub (not even when sitting there, just going to and from the table) there hasn't been much difference. My company didn't do a summer party, meetings and conferences are online now, and the big local beer fest was cancelled, but all in all there was no effect. So my perspective is quite coddled, I guess, because to me this shit was almost entirely on the news and not real life. I know nobody who actually had it (and my colleague's girlfriend actually had it, and he just didn't get it) unless you wanna count the guy at the gym whom I overheard talking about how he had it. First thing he did when he officially allowed to go out again? Jogging in the morning and then straight to the gym.
