US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Biden must have gotten his eight hours of sleep, and the teleprompters were on their A-game.

He was even able to handle softball questions from journalists. Now, let's see him handle a civilian audience.
He might not be THAT ready...

And pièce de résistance...

So I’m curious: let’s say that a week or two before the election, Biden’s campaign comes out and says he’s got dementia or something, and he cannot run as the Democratic pic. What happens after that? Does the VP take over as the candidate, or would the DNC claim that elections need to be pushed back until a replacement is found?

How do you guys think they'll weasel Joe out of debating Trump?

After seeing how badly Pennsylvania did and the urgency of going to Kenosha to copy Trump, I see two options, one junior league PR level, the other "tin-foil but at this point believable" :

1) they claim he broke his leg or something at his home one night. A complete lie but the media will never let you question the truthfulness of it so no debate, at best the debate is livestreamed.

2) they're going to hire someone to get too close to Biden (or his wife for sympathy points) and scream at them without a mask or possibly push him a bit. This is the kind of gayops that Biden won't even know about or any of the top people for plausible deniability. Trumpkins are too scary and emboldened by Orange Man Bad, we cannot allow a debate when Trump himself might walk over and punch Creepy Joe.

Domestic terror threat. “Credible” intelligence will claim an eminent threat (bomb?) to whatever facility hosts Biden. What better way to turn it around that once again the RWDSs are subverting democracy and open debate?

They won't do that, for multiple reasons:
  1. Taking someone off the top of the ticket post-convention is such an admission of weakness it would kill their chances regardless. The closest example case in living memory was McGovern dropping Eagleton, and Nixon won every state but Massachusetts in the 1972 election (not just because of McGovern ditching his VP, but it sure didn't help).
  2. Ballot access deadlines are long past so they couldn't put any potential new VP nominee to replace Kamala on the ticket (nor could they officially put Kamala as the presidential candidate)
  3. The existing laws and common procedure around political candidates of... uncertain mortality... more or less give the DNC exactly what they want in the event Joe dies: Harris, the manufactured up-and-comer, becomes president-elect in the event Biden wins, and they have the freedom to pick their VP after the election without having to run it by their base.

Biden's not coming off of the ticket. People fantasizing about it is starting to give me flashbacks to last fall when every bit of news was the secret sign Hillary was finally gonna enter the race.

Oh look, he's having to walk back something else that he said. Again. I also appreciate how he's now trying to paint himself as a Constitutionalist in order to bring himself closer and closer to Trump's campaign. This is during the same speech where he said that he was the one who pressured Trump into enacting the Defense Production Act, even though by the time that Biden had started telling Trump he needed to enact the DPA, Trump had already enacted it earlier in the month.

If Joe Biden's just going to advocate for everything that Trump does but on a month-long delay, what's the fucking point of his campaign? Seriously, Biden's entire campaign has just completely collapsed now and he's not advocating for any of his old stances. He's wheeled back on fracking, he's rolled over on the riots, he's running away from his mask mandate, he flipped on traveling to Kenosha, the dude's entire campaign is just a bootleg version of Trump's.

He steals every single idea a month later and tries to call it his own. It's fucking pathetic.

Tfw your entire campaign is being driven on not being Trump, but you're slowly becoming him.

The best part of that whole presser where he finally took some questions from the journalists came at the very end, where he went off-script for a split second (Much to the horror of his tard-wranglers I'm sure) and got caught off-guard by a journalist who asked him a legitimately difficult question. "Why were you still hosting rallies in March if you were supposedly warning Trump about the seriousness of COVID-19 in January?"

Joe Biden didn't answer the question, he just went on a prolonged rant for five fucking minutes. If you want to listen to the entire ramble and try to rationalize what he was even saying, be my guest. I'm not wasting five minutes of my life transcribing a rambling, old man. He talked for five minutes straight and he didn't say a single fucking thing.

Insert easy "cultural appropriation" joke here.

How the fuck did the DNC get to September, basically force out the progressive candidate Bernie, AND NOW JUST REALIZE that they had pissed off both progressives and the moderates in their own party?

I like how Joe Biden prefaced his "answer" with "I know you always ask a hostile question, but go ahead".

He's so desperately trying to be the "Donald Trump" of the Democrats that it's laughable.

Don't forget that his rambling, stuttering messes occur even when he has a teleprompter or a pile of notes in front of him. I think this one here was one of the worst ones I've seen because he is literally reading directly from a sheet of notes, making no effort to look like he's even looking at the camera or the audience, and he still can't figure out what to say.

Joe Biden may have always been a lying, plagiarizing sack of crap that hasn't accomplished anything in his political career other than lining his own pockets and that of his family, but Joe Biden used to be a very competent orator back in the day. He wasn't always like this. Something is clearly wrong with him.
You know I never put much stock into the idea that Biden was going to have his brain melt through his ears until I watched that. People were saying similar stuff about Hillary so I just wrote it off. But damn after listening to that speech he's really declined.

Because they thought selecting a woman of color as the VP would totally smooth over any animosity leftover from the primaries.

Also mix in the general arrogance of angering the plebs not mattering because "what are you gonna do vote for Trump?".

The current push among the CNN/Twitter crowd is that Biden shouldn't give Trump the opportunity to spread his hate by debating him.

"Debating Trump will only give the illusion that his hateful lies are reputable and not the racist hate mongering that it truely represents. Biden should definitely not debate Trump!"

And so on...

That's what I want from a World Leader.

Biden shouldn't debate Putin or Xi Jinping or Kim Yo-jong.

Actually, they probably believe this. Every couple of months progressives find a new person to cancel for simply TALKING to someone they hate. That's actually how Joe Rogan got his "alt-right" persona even though the dude literally endorsed Bernie; instead AOC said that she could no longer endorse Bernie because Joe Rogan did. They literally go against their own beliefs the moment there's a hint that their enemies might agree with them.
