i'm not sure how that would chemically work, as salt peter (potassium nitrate) is the primary oxidizer in most "old world" gun powder recipes and is aggressively ethanol phobic, actively repelling ethanols. it isn't possible to soak gunpowder in ethanols without gunpowder separating into constituent parts, or at the least having ethanol bind with the water in the ethanol solution.

i suppose in theory you can get lucky with ratios and get a quantity of denatured alcohol from whatever is leftover of minute quantities of ammonia or whatever, but that's not really reliable or repeatable.

then there's the fact that different methods of gunpowder production will produce different chemical burning traits, or may produce nothing because the flake, pellet, powder, or extrusion uses an external oxidizer (like powder used for cannons or other artillery), or are water-proofed by plastic encapsulation with a treatment like adding lead powder, graphite, gypsum, or similar anti-caking, anti-static agents.

about the only way this could be reliable to measure alcohol is under laboratory conditions...

also rationed alcohol was typically rum or something sugared, and prior to that it was wine or brandy. the sugar helped mask stagnant water, and the alcohol content by volume wouldn't be terrifically high to begin with, i wouldn't expect it to be readily burnable without significantly controlled ratios which might be hard to do at sea or something every day.

edit: thinking about it, assuming a reasonable effort was made to determine the volume of alcohol that would reliably ignite when absorbed by a fixed quantity of common black powder, say a powder corn or something, you could pour the alcohol on the powder corn so that ethanol would wholly bind with the potassium nitrate, and then any remaining ethanol would be sitting around the corn and creating ethanol fumes by mixing with air. this mixture would be readily ignited by common open flame. you would have to have a precise measure of the questionable spirit and use a powder cake with the same or similar composition each time, regulated cannon powder would do it i suppose. for the measuring of the alcohol ration there would have to be a laboratory-determined and purpose-built measure to dip and pour from. i wonder if that exists? would be neat to try.

I'm assuming you don't have any receipts or you would have already posted them?

But yeah, it's scary to put a girlfriend in Arms Reach of Lucas, even over the phone so to speak, but I personally was appreciative for the content, and I thought Goldie's girl handled herself pretty well.

What's more it ended up being a good save for the interview, because since the guest wasn't able to be there for technical reasons, the rest of the interview would have been a waste, wasn't planned, and could've dragged.

We are lacking in credible information about how Lucas was acting in college. There were rumors people had complained about him, but how credible they were sort of remained a mystery. FIRST one is, Lucas said Isaac hits him in the face!

Oh, he tried to play it off like it was something casual and playful, but a younger man than you, half your age really, smacking you in the face....I don't know -that wouldn't be a joke to me.

And the SECOND one is: When Lucas worked at Subway, the first perk that comes to his mind to "make it a good job" is the fact that they gave him a sandwich everyday.

I once congratulated myself for appreciating Lucas's antics on an adult, thoughtful level, as if there were a proper way to laugh at a retard. I wasn't one of those jerks who took a simple, cruel delight in his suffering; no, I ironically chuckled at him from a place of bemused detachment. That was ages ago. Since then, I've come to accept that I dislike Lucas. He bears the mark of the bitch. It saddens me that I never had the chance to call him faggot and give him a purple nurple when he was 15.

Lucas has a pretty consistent output of retarded bullshit but he does go into maximum tardi-drive if he gets prodded. Occasional prodding won't do any harm.
