Conservatives led such a huge number of moral crusades against technology and video games and everything that your tech-savant autist enjoys in the 80s and the 90s, they've got a solid couple generations of people entering that particular workforce who're never going to be sympathetic to their perspectives. You could do affirmative action for conservative techies and have trouble filling those seats (say, like AA currently has when looking for qualified black C-levels in every industry that isn't music).

Conservatives don't have cultural clout in the discords and slacks and whatever other corners of the internet where a lot of the code monkeys of the future are congregating. Every single conservative-friendly action that every single tech company takes, particularly those that serve as social platforms, is going to be a token effort to claim some level of neutrality. They aren't neutral. Conservatives should wise up and play smarter, but they'll neither do that nor will they meaningfully congregate at a smaller alternative.

They should play facebook's game - they should claim that the suppression of discussion of Kyle seems nakedly political, and they just want to apolitically discuss the merits of self-defense or of defending businesses or something. Instead, they're going to waste the opportunity whinging about how a bunch of people that don't like them... don't like them. Or launch into a lecture about how young urban techies are sinful and need to find god and blah blah blah

To stop you from getting the coof, yes, they're completely useless. To stop you from spreading it, eh, there's logic to it for enclosed spaces. Psychologically, it makes people 'more aware' and tends to encourage people to keep themselves distanced and to be careful about touching shit or breathing on shit. It blocks more forms of droplet-based transmission than nothing. In small, enclosed spaces like a store - makes sense to wear one, and it makes sense for businesses to require them and the government to back up that requirement.

But when you're outdoors, there's really no fucking point to the damn thing. Small towns and dinky shops that can afford to open their windows and keep space also don't make any sense to require the stupid things. The fact that the mandates have gone down in such a one-size-fits-all manner seems to suggest that it's just a baseline loyalty test and a premise by which to make people think that shutting the economy down and triggering undue crisis in an election year is "absolutely necessary."

The problem with the business regulation being that it's not just applied to building before a certain size and capacity, but to literally all businesses. "Diversity of tactics" is frequently used on their protests announcements. It basically means it isn't a "march and go home" event, that you're supposed to bring the HK style street gear (shields, gas mask, etc) and be prepared to cause havoc however you choose.

The other keyword in there is "no peace policing", that means no one gets to say "hey we aren't about this, be peaceful". It's a clear declaration they intend to cause trouble.
