I'd swear I saw a few times where Shoe vaguely criticized something going on with the Skeptics or IBS or whatever, and then would delete it shortly after. Which I'd attribute to her knowing enough that this it was the kind of drama that would result in a few thousand fans of those drama-channels/e-celebs getting on her case. Makes it all the stranger that she decided to go all in on Vaush since the guy has been mocked quite a bit and the fanbase for his and his detractors is similarly wild (or at least getting there).

Feel Greg at least was spiritually cucked as he didn't want to get involved in any of the political commentary others were getting into, hence the comment about not wanting to be a Sargon copy or whatever. Certain industries (aka energy) are nearly impossible to enter unless you have capital. Capitalism doesn't always reward the most able and doesn't always breed innovation. Americans get mad when you point out that it was the soviets that sent man into space first and when we sent man onto the moon, one of our proudest achievements, it was govt funded. I always see Americans acting like capitalism is amazing without pointing out the flaws, and when you do call them out you're suddenly a commie. Nothing should be immune to criticism.

I think that, while a lot of people keep reinventing themselves, I see there are also people who lose all their fans after a series of fuckups. There's also people who get deplatformed and have to rebuild as opposed to enjoying the easy ride of uninterrupted success. (leafy compared to keemstar--who's making more money?) We don't always hear from them (thus don't think of them) for obvious reasons of losing their reach.

I've also seen examples YouTubers over the last 10 years whose bubbles burst and they REALLY fucked their lives up (debt, reputation permanently damaged, being a tard not capable of recovering) because they were banking on streamer income while it lasted. Some people get lucky and never had real skill.

These things may not ultimately kill shoe0nhead, she seems to have some skill at "being a brand" and it doesn't automatically kill a content creator to have their rep damaged. Drama can even help if you do it right, people will support your cause (like itsagundam and pokimane). But it's a gamble, almost a Russian roulette. Playing with your reputation can kill you as an e-celeb if you fuck up in a cataclysmic way. Sometimes this means being capped at a permanent glass ceiling, never really growing past the point when you fucked up (ProJared).

Shoe0nhead has a fairly strong brand, and there are millions of people in the world for her to potentially draw on. I could see her fucking it up, though. Again, she might not "kill" her own brand by accident, but she could damage it greatly. She's obviously already sacrificed a lot of fans in favor of the leftoid audience, but as you say, if she has to jump ship on that... what next? There are so many other volatile factors in her life, her personal issues, mental illness. I can see her taking the wrong path and chimping out, instead of growing into a stable person who also does political commentary on the side.

The biggest risk I see for her is the fact that she lacks a real social life outside of the Internet. She doesn't have IRL friends by admission (steamer friends and troon goon) and her fiance dumped her, so whoever she gets with next will be a big deal. All the factors are there for them to spontaneously combust into a chimpout one day.

No. Just No and wrong. First of all: The government in the US creates artificial monopolies with energy and utilities like water. As in: "only the government is allowed to do it." Do you not know that? Capital aside, it's impossible to get into the utility industries in many places because of the government, end of. Some places do not have this forced monopoly and you can actually choose from more than one, say, power company because of that. Even then, it's got issues because of the government rules.
Even the phone and cable companies are only somewhat un-monopolized, but you still have a lot of regulation from the government that is barrier to entry.

The Internet itself only was possible because of decades of people pushing for deregulation of phones and proto-internet technology, that phone regulation was essentially making the industry for Internet illegal. It literally used to be illegal to put anything that wasn't a phone into a phone line jack. That regulation had to be removed for dial-up Internet to be legal. Think about that.
I'm not anti-regulation, but you have to understand there is a ridiculous amount of red tape and many bad regulations that were lobbied in for very stupid reasons. You're blaming the capitalism for problems created by the government. Also: Communism is the government controlling industries, all industries, so suggesting any of this is incredibly ignorant. End of.

Second of all: There are tons of examples of the Soviets killing animals and people in their space race. Using them as an example of some kind of achievement is bullshit if they had to rush and murder people, that's insane. The USA took longer because they actually tried to make the space crafts safe and NOT blow people up. Only a child would think being faster is an achievement over not killing people/animals.

That won't happen as it'd require a group of people that can see the flaws with their own side's ideology. But if we consider Breadtube to be reaction to skeptics making fun of low hanging fruit like identity politics and anti-nationalism, since many of them appear (from my extremely limited knowledge) to be very pro-identity politics and anti-nationalism, then we'd probably be able to say they're splintering apart a bit when they start straying from those key talking points.

The pendulum will swing back eventually, but it probably won't be straight up anti-identity politics again since that's sorta played out. Given how everyone is focusing on economics these days, writing essays about socialism vs capitalism, it may end up as an appealing wedge issue for some new gang to rally around. Breadtube essentially endorses tossing more money at mega corporations to provide for people's needs (healthcare industry etc) so maybe it'll be some group criticizing their hyper capitalism disguised as socialism?

Made me curious about what Greg had said on twitter about Sargon and noticed this. Besides the obvious further dumping of Sargon since he couldn't help him gain attention, it's also evidence of how tired Greg was of politics versus Shoe wanting to go even more into it. Which if it's true that Sargon played wingman and got the two of them together makes it all the funnier.

Since it would mean Sargon both helped promote the two of them, brought them together, and then drove them apart by popularizing talking politics in in the Skeptic community since it eventually resulted in Shoe wanting to talk politics constantly while Greg wanted to talk about fun shit.
