This is true. However, even if this is supposed to be him doing some 4D reverse trolling by trying to degrade Phil's fans, he's still forking out heaps of money for the vest alone, as well as that large wave of gifted subs. Given that, I'd say this is probably a more accurate reflection of what this guy thinks than when he is being snarky at Phil. Even if he won't admit it.
He claims he talked to a doctor, presumably over the phone. But I wonder if they're aware of his hygiene. The way Phil was talking ('the headphones created an environment' that fostered the infection) sounds like him quoting what the doctor said, but just like Nancy, they probably boomered it and didn't go further than 'I wear headphones for my job'. He claimed he wipes them down regularly (probable lie), but when he showed them they looked almost slick with grease. They're a bacterial environment because Phil's filthy face and hair provide a daily source of fresh bacteria. Phil probably jumped when it was suggested it was the headphones; that's a far easier fix than 'You're middle age and you need to fucking shower every day, you pig'.
Assuming Phil wipes himself down with a rag like he previously indicated, I would assume that rag is not washed as often as it needs to be, based on its horrific duties, and that Phil probably uses it on regions that shouldn't come into contact with one another, including his ears.
Everything about this is vile.
