He feels like an empty husk of a personality.
A lot of political online commenters project a persona that is not very accurate to who they actually are but gives credibility to their arguments (either intentionally or because thats how they see themselves). An example would be sargon or kraut in their old videos with their accents and history avatars and general way of speaking making them come off as "intellectuals" when their actual actions and arguments showed that they were both far less intelligent, level headed and honest than they tried to project. Or nick with his "I never lose, I'm the savior of MAGA," shtick.
I most cases, there is some truth to it. Kraut did put a lot of effort into research on a lot of videos (he's just fucking retarded and misses obvious shit), sargon did usually engage with the ideas of those he went after, atleast compared to how they responded, and nick had a period where people far bigger than him tried to take him out but he survived and made them look like fools (and then because politics is a clown world nothing changed).
But with vaush, atleast from what little I have bothered to watch, he projects this character that he's some great debater, that he's just laying out the truth and morality and that the people against him are just insane. But none of that, in any way, is based in reality. Its an entirely made up persona. He's not some rational socialist thinker who can defeat anyone in a battle of the minds, he is just an image of that projected onto the side of a human soylent bottle.
It's pretty obvious where Vaush has gotten his own persona from... Destiny.
It's very creepy how Vaush uses the same type of speaking pattern, gestures and reactions as Destiny. I understand he was his viewer in the past, but it's as if he was locked in chamber and was forced to watch Destiny all day, everyday. It's true that you get to "adopt" some of the habits/patterns from the people you hang out with (if you are hanging out with them a lot, that is) but it's as if Vaush has completely scanned Destiny and now wants to be exactly like him..
And what's even funnier, whenever Destiny debates him or unleashes on him - Vaush gets extremely emotional or sad rather. I remember when Destiny called him some privileged boy who never worked a day in his life and Vaush was visibly shook and shocked that his idol would ever say something like that. He did mention that he did have a job, but I can hardly believe it. Maybe his rich daddy told him to clean his room here and there & Vaush thinks this is something you can put in your resume.
You get to see this type of "scan-and-behave-exactly-the-same" pattern from a lot of audience from leftist streamers. They argue the same, type the same and feel the need to comment on every YT video to defend their "master". Idk about you guys but this does seem like pathological behavior, I mean what do you have to show 5 years from now? Has this helped with your career anyhow? Will you debate a random stranger on the street that won't give a shit about your rebellious utopia? Kinda yikes, it's no different than some pop star's obsessed fan base.
