Stuff on volunteer experiences that I wanted to share a bit

So, where to begin. I wish Apeis hired more Japanese people onto the team initially, because he did mention being in contact with people like that. He really needs to hire more people who live in Japan, are Japanese, or have Japanese language capabilities close to N1. I shouldn't be the only Japanese person on the team, especially someone who's Asian American. Like, I get that this games appeal doesn't particularly target Japanese individuals, and not gonna lie I was drawn away from this project initially because I was wary of its target audience. However, to reiterate Shortcakes' involvement got me really interested and I will admit I'm very happy to have joined, regardless of how things ended up turning out. I ended up meeting really awesome people and while I am not happy that Apeis has shown lack of agency in paying his volunteers with the ad revenue he's made for himself, I'm at least glad that he's willing to at least change and not go down a similar path that YanDev has gone. However, that isn't to say I don't have criticisms and what I brought up still stands.

On a second note, I wanted to share some minor stuff pertaining to Bow-Chan and the game as neat info that hasn't been shared. Some people have been wondering about the addition of the gold heart in her design, and the reason why that exists is that in the first fanart I drew of Bow before I became a volunteer, I added a gold heart in her bow to match the gold on her shoe buckles. SC really liked the addition and added it into the second draft of her design. Additionally, SC also was inspired by my real name Minami for Bow-chan, even though they changed it to be Manami to fit the love theme. I thought it was super sweet of them to use part of my name as tribute, and find a bit funny that Minami is the name that ended up being the one thats spoiled.

EDIT: Forgot to note that the school originally was going to go by the name of 阿蘇美場学園高校(Asobiba Gakuen Kōkō) and was something I proposed before they went with the different name after my leave.

Hi Outset, let Apeis know we want to see actual build of the game, not some teasers without any content whatsoever. Sooner or later, broader public will start to demand it as well, this is going to be ballistic. Especially because whole crowd Apeis got, is expecting fast improvements - because of that outright lie where Apeis claimed how he made school in two weeks. I promise you, it's not going to be boring :story:

I disagree, it was incredibly fun to see a project fall apart so quickly in a mere span of two weeks because every day something new was happening. You should be perfectly aware this project went downhill because Apeis defended and brought back horny pedo pajeet which molested girl volunteers on discord, can't make this shit up :story:

I agree this thread considerably slowed down compared to crazy tempo we got at the very start; but it's a given in any lolcow thread. Nothing out of the place. I actually enjoy it, because we can now check out finer details which we missed when shitstorm started. Just ~2 days ago we got 64 pages long Heartbreak lore. Very educational. You would think it has happened ~4 years ago, but this project happened this year, in February - giving us very good glimpse at how LL is going to look like. As I said, can't wait for that build :story:

Considering that it’s been two months and people still remember Bow Chan... Well. Gets you thinking.

This has already gone beyond Bow Chan at this point, this is talking about the mistreatment of the volunteers and the awful management Apeis and his team have done. Multiple ex volunteers have came out about the situation and management still has not changed. They only apologise because of damage control and continue to lie.

I am doubtful it’s actually anyone from the team and more likely just some lurker from other lolcow sites who is triggered we are harboring a so called sjw tumblrina. They seem to have a hate boner for Shortcake and seem really upset we’re focusing on Logan instead.

It's especially baffling to me because we know nothing of the characters outside of the MC, and even that seems like it is still changing. If you don't have a solid list of characters, how are you casting people? With a larger game, I'd believe they are just keeping the details close to their chest and soliciting VA's privately as to not leak any information, but that doesn't strike me as Logan's style. Even if we're being generous and assuming he's privately been making a bunch of progress on the game, I can't imagine he's anywhere near the point of recording audio.
