It's always interesting how or if FA-activists deal with health problems possibly shaking up their beliefs.
I thought I saw Stella Williams' latest video posted here some pages ago, about how she needs to lose weight because she had some diagnoses thrown her way? Since I couldn't find that post again:
Solution: She'll go on a three month course of a doctor prescribed diet to be longer for this earth. She seems to be open about changing her mind about her beliefs if necessary.
Which made me take a look at Sophie Payne for an update, known for "all things plus size" on youtube, mainly vlogs, hauls, tutorials.
This was her 2018. She is cute, she has the nicest personality, but over time, the weight gain looked more and more alarming and despite her cheerful way, quite sad. The mostly upbeat online image doesn't go well with depression and sickness.
This was her in february and march this year.
She married her best friend a few years ago. After slimming down until the wedding they both continuously gained.
Some older pictures of her ca. 2012-2017
She just didn't look like the same woman in that last picture in 2017, only 3 years ago, compared to today.
They're married, they're young and bought a house, now they want to get pregnant. This wasn't easy at all for two years, because both she and Adam became very overweight again in these few years of marriage. She adopted the BoPo-ideas and was quite successful on youtube with it. She also was diagnosed with PCOS, and from then on they tried to lose weight fast, slow and off and on to fulfill their dream of having babies. They updated everybody on their struggles in May.
At the end of August she announced on IG, that they had to stop fertility treatment for weight reasons. Guess who found some consoling words in the comments? Miss fatpositivefertility, a BoPo-fertility activist, who had been noticed ITT before. Kinda suspicious.
Today Sophie uploaded a life update on youtube.
She tried keto, but felt unwell and it was very hard. Lost two stone and gained half a stone back and so forth.
At her height of 5'4" / 162cm she now has to reach a BMI 30 target (which is still overweight), earlier they were told it needed to be 35. The online calculater told me, that would be 79,7 kg on 5 foot 4, but she says she needs to be about 11 stone, which are ca 69,9 kg (154lb). Maybe I'm too dumb for the calculator.
So now what will they do? "Your bmi can be a bit higher with private clinics" (for ivf), so they're looking into it.
For now "they kind of need to put it in a box", she says, regarding baby payne and the treatments for it, she doesn't want to do extreme keto anymore. They will try to lose it slowly. Although I wish her the best honestly, I am doubtful that it will happen with her history.
