What's happening in Melbourne is fucking terrifying. I had no idea Australia was such a leftist hellhole. I remember reading about the people fleeing the quarantine hotels they were locked in. They had to endure daily tests yet STILL were forced into 2-week hotel stays with armed guards outside their doors even if they repeatedly tested positive. Scary shit. That is not about health. That's pure control.

I honestly don't see the mask-wearing lasting for more than a few years IF THAT, at least not in the U.S. Maybe a group of people will still wear them and the government will widely encourage it or local governments will come up with more bullshit ordinances, but once given the opportunity, most people rip them off and say "fuck this shit." I honestly predict most people will give up on the masks by mid-2021.

A few years is a REALLY long time, and at some point, things will start to shift. We're already seeing it happen slowly but surely, though we are in the early stages.

That's not to say people won't still be terrified, prone to fear-mongering, and other nonsense won't be tried on the general public (as that is always), but the excitement around COVID will dwindle at some point, especially once a vaccine (useless or not) comes into the picture.

Call me optimistic but I just don't see this lasting ~forever. They'll come up with something new by then.
What's the difference between what they're doing in Australia and just going to prison? You have no freedom of movement, your internet is being monitered for any sign of dissent, and you're controlled 24/7. That's a prison. What does anyone there have to lose by just committing whatever crime they feel like? Do they even bother putting people in jail, like how California and New York City will just let crooks out on bail?
The Folsom Street Fair is online this year so everyone gets to see the degeneracy!

So there's a group called Ohio Stands Up that's filing a lawsuit against the state to lift the emergency order. I really hope this succeeds. And I'm sure if it does there's gonna be a mountain of salt from karens and doomers.

It's a bit optimistic, but DeWine has lost every case brought against the state. But I can hope too. Ohio never got that bad, 2/3s of our deaths were in nursing homes, and DeWine's having to test wastewater to keep this shit going. We've done our part and we did it well and all we get is more rules and more ratching down.

Here in CA our little Hitler keeps changing the rules. No idea where he gets his science. Believe he just makes this shit up. His state "health director" abruptly resigned a few weeks ago. Power is most seductive, and Newsom is fully in thrall. Guess he doesn't realize or care that he has no credibility, and lots of people in CA hate his guts, with that number growing daily.

I'm watching a livestream of some of the riots going on, and if it isn't addressed soon by the authorities fearmongering about Corona-Chan how all those assholes can march arm in arm while screaming and chanting but not drop dead a week later I am going to be crankier than usual.
They expect everyone to stay inside and be afraid to touch shopping carts without sanitizing them first but the riots are okay? 'Splain it to me, science people. I am curious. How are the rioters surviving this?
I'm waiting.
"Well....they wear masks."

I just saw a YouTube ad from the CA health department attempting to scare you into not getting together with your friends.

"Be safe. Social distance. Wear a mask."

This syrupy propaganda is more sickening than the bug.

Speaking of syrup, in Canada there's a push to have to book hikes that's made its way into a few parks so far. They want to be able to contact trace everyone in the park I assume, and feel that the forest was getting too crowded before.

Been a lot of discussion about "virtual" meetings these days. Voice teleconferencing has been around for many years, of course.

The first "virtual" meetings may have taken place over a century ago. Am reading the book Inventing American Broadcasting 1899-1922. As wireless (radio) transmitting/receiving equipment began to be more affordable to buy/make, allowing for thousands of amateurs to have their own home stations, "wireless clubs" began to form. In 1912 the NY Times estimated there was 122 wireless clubs in the USA. These clubs "met" on a certain wavelength. Chairman called meeting to order by sending out his call letters, and members came into the meeting the same way. Members discussed technical problems/solutions, equipment, and helped each other with transmission skills. (pp. 205-206)

An outgrowth of this was the start of the American Radio Relay League, still around today.

I'm going to Yosemite next month, and had to make a reservation to enter the park. Not for a campsite, just to enter the park. Individual hikes don't require reservations, though, outside of Half Dome which has required a separate use permit for a decade. From what I've heard, several other parks have followed suit. I suppose it isn't totally ridiculous, given the significantly higher demand to visit the parks since most every other vacation spot is shut down. It was pretty weird though.

That won't work in the US thanks to Saint Floyd of Fent giving us protection from the police. The minute a couple of black guys get roughed up by the police for violating these Orwellian decrees, there will be yet another riot that will make sure the police are too busy to enforce it for a few more days.

Wait a minute, maybe that's the intent...
This likely belongs more in the riot thread, but black conservative Larry Elder outlines all the reasons the race baiting causing the riots are exactly that and everyone saying otherwise is full of shit. He said if anyone should be rioting against police violence, it is whites.

Back to beer bat AIDS, Austrian scientists have confirmed yet again masks do dickall.

Maskenpflicht brachte in Österreich keinerlei messbaren Nutzen (Requiring the use of masks has had no measurable results in Austria)

Yeah, I wanted to go to Rocky Mountain Ntl Park about two weeks ago. Two days before I go, I hear about the reservations. They were totally booked, and I couldn't enter the park. I was able to go hiking nearby, but I still can't believe it. They've taken EVERYTHING away from us. And now they are trying to take the outdoors? GTFO.
