Since someone brought up Hilda early I thought I'd also bring up a character that in my opinion also pulls off having "Ugly" features.

That character being Cherry, IE Studio Killers mascot.

She's fat, has eyebags, and even has skin blemishes BUT the artist(s) behind studio killers are still clearly trying to make her look appealing and put effort into their art, not mention cherry has more personality than just "Lol memes soft girl uWU".

It works because everything about her is stylized, and everything follows the same style.

Most SJW artists seem to think it's fine to have most of the character drawn like this:

But have their flaws, blemishes, fat rolls, self-harm scars, body hair, vitiligo, etc., drawn like this:

Pìck a fucking lane. Either you have detailed anatomy and detailed flaws, or keep everything simple. Cartoonists and animators have been doing it for over a century, it's not that hard.
(Incidentally, that's why I didn't mind the "body-positive" chubby Usagi-wannabe girl early in the thread. Yeah, the characters are fat but nothing looks out of place or grotesque, and even the mouths were forgivable and easy to fix..)

Maybe she does this kind of shit just to "own the cis". It's pretty common knowledge that a woman who knows her way around a car engine is like a dream for a lot of guys, and we can't have that in the Wide Woke World of Lop, can we?

Lop herself isn't trans (yet). All this comes off as her being creepy and fetish-y about trans people. She has characters she made years ago be labelled as trans out of nowhere. She puts a dress on every one of her guys for no reason because she finds crossdressing hot. She makes any remotely tomboyish female character have issues with their gender.

Lop. Isn't. Trans. You're a cis person and you want to make a trans character? Fine. Having one is fine, so long as it isn't their whole personality. But when you're shoving it on every character that exists, people will start to notice the red flags. I think Lop genuinely gets off on this, or sees it as a shiny new fad that will make her lackluster scene kid characters stand out. Instead, it reduces them all to a whimpering bunch of gender-specials and femboys, all with the same LOL SO RANDUM!!1 personality and no overall confidence outside of the bedroom.

Anyway, all Hail Captain Cutthroat, the only one of Lop's characters with any sort of no-nonsense badassery and masculinity.
