wow I don't rememeber mario going to r/menright and getting redpilled

seriously: It a interesting concept here. The fact that they can create live character with just paper and crayon...

@NerdShamer suggested that I should post this nugget here
Some point of interest
-they put the NSMB, mario galaxy 2, mario sport, donkey kong, spiderman and the nintendo hardward in the same basket as paper mario
-for them stating the obvious(nsmb=bland and SS is not as good as the original) is toxic
-using the word ''cancer'' is bad m'key
-wanting a good developped story is bad m'key
-the huge tl:dr overfocus and the ttyd elitist(probably a good majority are just fan who want quality)? yet they are silent on the SS CS TOK fanbases
-some mention about a fight that happened on this wiki

-Also not they are literally no source for all of the claim, so we dunno if it all made up or grossly exaggerated

That last line in the 4chan image lined up with what I was thinking too on page 26 after I watched the Arlo video. Can't believe Count 'tfw no girlfriend' Bleck killed Paper mario.
To think a fancy douchebag's thirst for pussy doomed us all.

But as for Nintendo's response on the matter, I think its just another example of them becoming too "western" and caring too much about what their foreign investors and media coverage thinks these days.

currently replaying paper mario the thousand year door, the one with the best battle system
(I understand toning down the dialogue but now...)

Damn it not just distinction in the same specie that origami king lack is the high variety of species... In tOK not counting toad you have koopa troopa, shy guy, sniffit, spike and that pretty much all, in ttyd you have goomba, koopa, puni, bomb-ob, those weird dog thing, those dark doll and less common one like bandit...
The original mario stories were living compared to the new paper mario wich most of the time are barren of life

I’m still wondering why there is not a port for The Thousand Year Door for the Nintendo Switch. You’d give out one for Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64, but not TTYD?

Seems like a wasted opportunity.
Because Nintendo is only celebrating first-party content for their 35th anniversary. The Paper Mario series was made in part, by Intelligent Systems.

Speaking of third parties, how come the studio behind Luigi's Mansion can get away with so much shit that the Paper Mario devs claim they can't get away with? Not only can they make their own characters with all sorts of designs while giving mainline characters unique mannerisms and character traits, but they can even alter designs of pre-existing characters like King Boo with little consequence and said design apparently got featured in some new Mario Kart thing too.

The last two Luigi Mansion games didn't get their content bled into the rest of the franchise, yet. Plus, the plot of the third game looks pretty shallow.

Other than that, I'm filing favoritism.

Is the luigi's mansion games made by a third party company?

If so, I'd say they're allowed to get away with it because their series stars a mainline character while for Paper Mario he's technically a unique character.

It would also explain why Aplhadream was able to get away some of the stuff they did in their games. Other than them being deemed the true RPG series for Mario.

I feel like Nintendo doesn't want something competing with newer versions of the franchise (especially one so traditional). It's a real shame because there used to be multiple entries per genre for Nintendo franchises. Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, F-Zero and Wave Race for example in racing.

Still when they made Paperjam that was probably their most restricted game, featuring none of the previous M&L regular characters or enemies, not even Toadsworth (who was dropped from the main series) with the exception of Starlow. Not even having original bosses. And after that M&L restricted itself to remakes before going kaput. Its like Paper Mario is cursed or something. Either that or Nintendo actually wants their third party IP handlers to fail.

You mean like a remaster? I'm worried. If they do a remaster I feel they will suck all the soul of ttyd. With generic art style like the mario and luigi remake

It'd be more that they would give the more "paper-esque" look that the later entries have.

Otherwise, I think the game would remain mostly unchanged.
