It's unbearably annoying, but after living with them I'd suggest you be a little more concerned. From my experience my roommate was a real slimy cunt and you can't trust anything they say. I think Itterasshai's earlier post on how vaush has been trying to tackle his pedo and racist allegations goes to show the obvious attempt to warp the perception of reality in his favour, and I would assume that your roommate has done the same. 1. If those were out of context, why say them at all?

It's very creepy how Vaush uses the same type of speaking pattern, gestures and reactions as Destiny. I hear where you are coming from. However while he does has his slimy moments he isn't awful, we get along on other topics that aren't politically related. I will say this: last time he went hard on being morally righteous on something, I fucked with him hard, especially when he doesn't know anything about technology. I sat through the whole argument and it boiled down to Vaush being unable to substantiate any of his claims that there's anything better than capitalism and breaking down into ad hominem attacks by accusing Exkillsmeh of being unimaginative and retarded for not being able to imagine a world without capitalism, dismissing Exkillsmeh's appeal to empirical evidence out of hand, being unable to explain the nitty gritty details of his ideal economic system, dismissing economic theorists who supported Capitalism out of hand, ect. Any time Exkillsmeh has a point to make, Vaush broke down into calling him an amoral, black-hearted, anti-intellectual who only cares about getting a yacht (appeal to motive) for not accepting his unfalsifiable claims at face value or just agreeing with him immediately. The most Vaush could do to describe his ideal world was suggest all things related to research, development, deployment, commerce or industry should be determined by a committee where everyone involved just works for the sake of social accolades; meaning his idyllic society is literally just a command economy by council and "people will work just because", he even pulls the Marxist caveman argument that people were mutually cooperative before commerce, because nomadic tribes have never fought before. Then he tried to argue that Marx was a genuine economist, someone who believed that the value assigned to precious metals (among other goods) was purely predicated on the effort it took to extract them from mines and caste them into coins, as opposed to things like demand and scarcity. Then Vaush accuses Exkillsmeh of dismissing leftist economists out of hand without mentioning any by name. This entire argument is just rules lawyering on Vaush's part to damage control Exkillsmeh's arguments with misdirection and redirection. If it doesn't say something that one is arguing from empirical evidence and the other is arguing from flights of fancy idealism in absence of anything practical, then nothing could.

The comments to that video are autisticly slanted against Exkillsmeh, some people even saying they'd take the gulags back just to be rid of him. I'm sure these people are neutral observers and have no personal fanatical stake in controlling the perception that Exkillsmeh is strongly disliked by the general public.

I'm a lefty and honestly finding about him has made me... very suspicious of the left. Most people I know don't like him, which is reassuring, but the subsection of socialists or liberals that do like him make me constantly rethink where my politics lie. This is the first month in years where I've actually wanted to build coalitions with people across the political spectrum because I think it would be valuable in snuffing out pedos and real racists.

I think Vaush is wrong. I genuinely don't think most conservatives are racists at all. I do think he is one though. The way he speaks about black peoples' bodies, hair, attitudes makes me think that 100% of his comments are just projection.
