I'm a very interventionist liberal. I think the Iraq War was great, regardless of any other considerations, because it deposed a genocidal fascist and freed millions of people to have the beginnings of a democracy at the expense of ~5000 lives (compare to WW2). In my view, Bush was retarded, but his administration accidentally or otherwise made the morally correct decisions.

I like Trump for many things, like his hard line on China, but he is dumb as shit. The major contrasting point for me is that Biden is clearly senile, and Harris built her campaign on legislating via EO's, which I think are generally terrible for US democracy. EOs should be very rare, SCOTUS should stop legislating from the bench, and Congress should make laws. That's my slightly more complex view.

Can you be charged if you apply medical aid without having a license to do so? If people are getting shot, burned, and all that painful things, I'm sure that I'd want to go to an actual hospital and not someone with a red cross on their helmet.

As far as I am aware if you say you are something you are not, you put yourself in liability for your retard actions. If you are just a random bystander who tries to help and you admit you know jack shit you are in most cases legally protected.

If you are an actual EMT or medic; you are actually quite limited in what you are legally covered to do. Say for example and EMT basic has seen IV's, knows how to do them, but they are not legally coverd to provide IV's while working under the license of the EMTB. This is quite an interesting example as army medics experience this when going back to civilian ems. Same goes with advanced airways etc etc.
Paramedics from my experience operate under an ER doctor's license when it comes to additional skills. It varies from location to location but the ER doctors can sign off on certain protocols they would like the ambulance to use which allows the training and active use of certain interventions and drugs that aren't standard.


California part of the nurse practice acts states that a person cannot let someone assume they are a nurse, much less call themselves one:

“In the interest of public safety and consumer awareness, it shall be unlawful for any person to use the title “nurse” by any individual except for an individual who is registered nurse or a licensed vocational nurse. This law does not prohibit certified nurses’ aides from using their specific title.”

Communicating with a medical assistant clearly and assertively that it is not okay that they call themselves a nurse is not only recommended, but required. Not doing so could put patients in danger.

Back on topic, what do you all think is the most apparent reason for the decline in enthusiasm among the riots generally? In Portland it seems more and more like they've burned themselves out, especially now that the police are much more aggressive, even if the actual arrest rates haven't gone up too dramatically since the state police were deputized. Even Rochester and Louisville look a lot less high energy than the chimpouts that happened even two weeks ago.

Almost every poll has Trump losing the battleground states. I know polls got it wrong it 2016, but they still all gave Trump a decent chance to win. Biden is likely the next president, as much as people would like to believe otherwise. Maybe lightning strikes twice, but anyone who isn't completely dominated by TES should acknowledge that Trump is likely out give current polling. Polls have very high accuracy. That they were wrong in one case is not indicative of a very flawed methodology. I would prefer Trump win, even though I think he's bottom-feeding trash, but it's unlikely.

Dem primary poll MI 2016 had HRC winning by miles, Bernie won the DNC primary in MI.

I am not a science denier. Denying this is acting as a science-denier. Trump got a good bump from the riots, but not enough in battleground states. Trump's only hope is that there are enough people hiding their politics from pollsters.

Polls got the last two US elections wrong, they got Brexit wrong, they got last UK election wrong, and they got the last Australian election wrong. Polls are often subject to poor methodology and rampant bias. Who knows who is going to win the election, but take the polls with a massive grain of salt.

Polls need to be under heavy scrutiny, you need to be able to see the verbiage of the questions and how the poll was conducted, as each one has their own bias. And that is assuming people are telling the truth, and everyone agreed to respond. For example a land line phone poll will have bias in response from older generations as a good amount of Gen X and younger only have cell phones, online polls will have bias in response from younger people, etc.

We are now living in an era where you can not assume respondents are telling the truth, as the DNC/leftists have made it clear any one who publicly states their support for the GOP or even things they don't like about the DNC are nazis and should be subject to being fired, social isolation, and violence. The people who recieve the polls can not assume (in terms of basic PERSEC) that the poll is anonymous as data breaches could happen or it was a fake poll by antifa/their enablers

Depends on context, pressure to a head wound? Most likely not, and most likely protected by Good Samaritan Laws, trying to preform a tracheostomy with out training (that is MD level training) that will most likely get you a lawsuit.
