It's a good thing Trump is in because the GOP response to this would be dogshit otherwise. Without the incentive to puff their chests out and cosplay as strongmen because acting like Trump is what voters like, they'd all cuck like Mitt Romney. i'd encourage you to look into the difficulties of classifying species. it is not as exact a science as people would like to believe. i know the point you are making, and like i said i agree to an extent, but the argument doesn't go anywhere. done derailing the thread on this.

If I recall he seemed mostly centered around the Seattle Washington Area, and signs of his work could be found throughout the coastal NW region. The ATF spent a number of years trying to figure out what his magic mix was.

I always remember the stories of this guy, because back in '85 I had a College Chemistry Professor that bailed on the school halfway through the first semester. He was supposed to be one of the worlds top experts on High Temperature/High Energy Chemistry. Developing Military Solid Rocket Fuels and such. Real cutting edge shit. He was an arrogant and obnoxious shithead, A completely awful human being in every way imaginable. but he was one of the schools top chemists so the Chemistry Grad Students were heavily dependent on him. He dropped everything, literally said fuck you all that October because his big experiment was going up on the next Shuttle Launch and he had been tapped by NASA! He just left, leaving at least a dozen Phd Chemistry candidates completely fucked. His experiment launched in January... Challenger. He was unemployed the next day. And because of how obnoxiously he had left our University, nobody was real interested in picking him up from what we heard. I always wondered what happened to him...

It's not a textbook violation of anything and it's done literally all the time. Every federal taskforce has a bunch of state, county and often municipal police attached and almost always deputized for the purposes of the mission. It's not like they are getting drafted. The feds can't make the state\local departments accept the deputizing.

In a lot of places the executives (mayors, governors, etc) are pissed off because the local prosecutors are making them look bad. When this crazy shit happens people don't know the name of the local DA who has coasted to electoral wins every other year, but they know the mayor. When businesses can't operate because their windows get broken, they pick up the phone and call the mayor. That's why this is happening now. The mayors and governors are realizing that it's their asses on the line and these nutty DAs that got elected aren't going to play the game.

It depends on the type of mission and its duration. If its required to assist in a single mission involving interstate smuggling for example, that's fine. If however, it's a role of long duration and involves a duty that's customarily the role of the state, like for example maintaining law and order in a single city, then yeah, that's an unconstitutional overreach

It depends on the state. In California a cop can absolutely make a 100,000 though depending on where they are they may need a lot of overtime to get them over the top. It looks possible in New York too but they start lower so it's harder. That's generally an outlier though, police pay across the nation ranges from middle class professional to decent to god awful. A Detroit police officer makes as much as I do at my job starting off and even taking our costs of living into account there's no way I would make that trade.
