Seriously, how the hell do you lot cope? Asking for a friend and all.
All we can do is smile and nod.

Trey isn't Jewish, is he? Stop being autistic by the way. I probably agree with you on a lot, but you're being a faggot.
Every single time.

Yep. Otherwise it would be considered a violation of the 10th Amendment. My point is that long term deputization of state officers to conduct their regular duties is unconstitutional unless theres a clear withdrawal by the state in question of its obligations to its citizens
A special deputation does not infringe on Tenth Amendment or exceed the scope of the Federal government's Constitutional powers. The Federal government is exercising its Constitutional duty to commission its officers and faithfully execute the laws of the United States; and the state still has all its powers to legislate on matters not reserved to the Federal government, enforce those laws, try people for violating them, etc. It's hard to imagine a scenario in which special deputation would run afoul of the Constitution, not unless it was totally illicit and just ignored a bunch of statutes and regulations.

The Marshals' special deputation authority covers DOJ employees, LEOs, and courtroom security when needed to perform a USMS mission. In the good old days, they could round up everybody as a posse comitatus:
Attorney General Cushing advised President Pierce that in enforcing the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, marshals of the United States had authority when opposed by unlawful combinations to summon to their aid not only bystanders and citizens generally, but armed forces within their precincts, both state militia and United States officers, soldiers, sailors, and marines[.]
(CRS, 2004)

I don't know if the whole "political/progressive magic community" has a thread, but it really should for how deluded (and entertaining) these people are.
We have a Witchblr thread over in the Tumblr subforum. Perhaps that's what you're looking for, @Caustic Gelatin?

People often use diesel or kerosene in molotovs, and arson in general, or some type of combo with gas because they will burn longer and isn't as explosive as gasoline. Gas is more volatile and thus creates more explosive vapor. There are a lot of things you can add like motor oil to make it burn longer and stick better.
Just be sure to choose a target wisely as these Splatterpunks learned in RoboCop 3 when they unsuccessfully attempted to burn the Cyborg Cop with their own flammable liquid concoction.

If the Splatterpunks are Antifa, Robocop represents the Feds who are far more relentless in pursuing, arresting, and charging violent protestors with crimes than the local, Antifa-sympathetic constabulary is.

Sheboon in Rochester, NY is screaming about how cops make 100k year (only the brass), taking money from the police, giving it to drug addicts and joggers, raising pay for CNAs (glorified maids) and how property crimes and misdemeanors shouldn't be enforced.
TFW these protestors feel normies have distorted worldviews when theirs is just as distorted if not more-so. As others have stated, non-brass cops making $100k/year usually results from overtime that's the byproduct of working in cities where crime and lawlessness are the rule and not the exception.

The demand to let property crimes and misdemeanors go uncharged is the latest example of "rules for thee and not for me."

Ironically, the best CNAs I have dealt with were all men. Guys who maybe weren't the best with bedside manner, but did their job with a mechanical efficiency that ensured their charges were kept clean, well fed, and comfortable.
If these particular CNAs are unionized and members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), I won't be surprised about the demand for higher pay. SEIU is the union behind the nationwide push for a $15/hour minimum wage and encouraging fast food workers to walk off the job for a day to join their $15/hour picket lines.

I once worked somewhere with CNAs represented by the SEIU. While there were those CNAs that enjoyed the work despite the relatively-low pay and demanding nature of the job, there were also those with the union mentality of doing as little as possible while still being able to collect a full paycheck. Consistent with @Gehenna's post, there was a male aide there that had one of the more positive reputations of the group.

Given how attitudes have changed since I left that job, it wouldn't surprise me if the union mentality has become more prevalent. I'm not sure how much CNAs make now, but a $15/hour minimum wage could be a financial crunch on those nursing homes that were lucky to break even years ago given the minimal funding received from both federal and state sources that makes up the bulk of their receipts and budgets. As it stands now, smaller nursing homes that don't close down for financial reasons tend to be bought out or absorbed by either larger facilities or corporate chains that care less about individual workers than their predecessors.

Western countries have betrayed their own peoples by spending tax money on groups who will never stop seeing us as oppressors no matter how far we bend over backwards to please them. So fuck them.
Just before the first Democratic debates when there were 20 candidates for the presidency, NBC's Lester Holt asked them to raise their hands if they supported free health care for undocumented people (i.e. illegals). All of them raised their hands. It's difficult for independent-minded normies to support a party and its candidates when they want illegals to receive benefits that the citizens don't have and deserve more than people who willingly enter the country illegally and have zero desire to become legal residents/citizens.

As for deputizing state police, Oregon might be seen as a pilot test to see if it can be used elsewhere and as a way for the Trump administration to tell other areas with violent protestors being allowed to violate the law with impunity to either take care of their messes themselves or the Feds will come there next to take care of it with Federal enforcement. As much as social and mainstream media like to paint Trump as incompetent, he has his moments where there truly is method to his madness.

With this being a holiday weekend, I'm curious whether we'll see any spicy protests, or if the combination of a holiday weekend and Federal arrests continue to gradually demoralize enough people that more of them stay home or off the radar.

I avoid watching the news altogether because it is ALWAYS inaccurate in regard to this shit, purposefully inaccurate and obtuse about the entire subject. Hearing them go on about "largely peaceful summer of love" bullshit and act like talking to a fucking convicted multiple felon and rapist [Jacob Blake] on the phone is some great opportunity makes me want to fly off into an apoplectic rage. So I just turn the shit off. Don't know why I have cable anyway.

Other than that, I try to keep in mind that all of the cities that have been hit hardest are mostly deep blue shitholes and even then, this shit is mostly contained to downtown areas where all of the retards who voted for these limber-dicked politicians probably live anyway. Furthermore I've realized that these events are pushing the more sensible people over to my side anyway and the riots have done a fine job of dehumanizing Marxists, as they very well should be. It's also been a fine way to identify retards who were previously in my circle, or circle-adjacent, and send them to the trash pile so I don't have to listen to their stupid shit.

Having an insurance policy in the form of a big Russian 'Fuck Off' gun also gives me some peace of mind, and knowing most of my local acquaintances and neighbors are armed as well. Should they get this far, and they won't, it would be a grave mistake on their part.

No, I am not using the meme wrong.

A-fucking-men to that. For whatever it's worth, I've also decided I cannot be bothered, any more, with people like that, if they were my friends, I've gone from just not discussing Politics with them to actively cutting them out. Mostly because I know when Trump gets re-elected (hopefully, but look at what the rioters are doing, look at the harm and damage they are doing to businesses and communities. It's turning people against them) I'll have to be there to hold their hands and talk to them and be supportive which will go against every fiber in my body screaming to tell them "you know how tou LOLd and ignored what was actually going on? This is what you fucking get. This is what you deserve. For every post you made on social media making a big fuss over how you were going to shut the fuck up for 24 hours and change your social media photo, for every post where you did nothing but sperg about "cheeto man literally hitler!!!!!!!" you know what? I guarantee your posts probably got to someone and made them go "naw. Fuck that. I'm not voting Dem"

These people are too stupid, too high on the belief of their own moral superiority that they will never accept that, and I am fucked, I am a done tom turkey, if I have to puppy walk them through their inevitable grief when things do not go how they want in November.
Leftists may claim that their activism is motivated by compassion or by moral principles, and moral principle does play a role for the leftist of the oversocialized type. But compassion and moral principle cannot be the main motives for leftist activism. Hostility is too prominent a component of leftist behavior; so is the drive for power. Moreover, much leftist behavior is not rationally calculated to be of benefit to the people whom the leftists claim to be trying to help. For example, if one believes that affirmative action is good for black people, does it make sense to demand affirmative action in hostile or dogmatic terms? Obviously it would be more productive to take a diplomatic and conciliatory approach that would make at least verbal and symbolic concessions to white people who think that affirmative action discriminates against them.
But leftist activists do not take such an approach because it would not satisfy their emotional needs. Helping black people is not their real goal. Instead, race problems serve as an excuse for them to express their own hostility and frustrated need for power. In doing so they actually harm black people, because the activists’ hostile attitude toward the white majority tends to intensify race hatred.

Follow good twitter people who present the real news, since traditional media has abandoned their duty to report reality. There are lots of lefties who hate antifa/BLM and regularly post about it on twitter.

Sometimes I look at this shit, at these crowds, at who is in these crowds, and I wonder which one will be this generation's Charlie Manson, Hunter S. Thompson or Alex Sanders. Then I realize that most of the zombies out there will die as untextured NPCs and I just shake my head.

Here's a quote from John Wayne I found today -
"In the late Twenties, when I was a sophomore at USC, I was a socialist myself—but not when I left. The average college kid idealistically wishes everybody could have ice cream and cake for every meal. But as he gets older and gives more thought to his and his fellow man's responsibilities, he finds that it can't work out that way—that some people just won't carry their load ... I believe in welfare—a welfare work program. I don't think a fella should be able to sit on his backside and receive welfare. I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living. I'd like to know why they make excuses for cowards who spit in the faces of the police and then run behind the judicial sob sisters. I can't understand these people who carry placards to save the life of some criminal, yet have no thought for the innocent victim. "

Booze and old cartoons. Maybe an old Cary Grant movie here and there.

State officials cannot be commandeered against their will to enforce federal law in contravention of state law, or to enforce federal law instead of state law, but this anti-commandeering principle is rather limited in scope, and detailed in New York v. United States and Printz v. United States, and has not been visited often since. States can, if they choose to, cooperate in the enforcement of federal law, but are under no obligation to do so.

Chill, I don't live in one of these super lefty cities where all the dirty hippies want to live. My city is a major working business city, we had one night or two of protests and very minor rioting after Floyd's death but people have moved on. BLM tried to organize stuff this weekend and maybe a dozen or two people showed up. The pics they posted of the event were pretty damn pathetic. There aren't that many guilt ridden white college brats here.. there aren't that many white people period, lotsa hispanics and they aren't going out of their way for BLM. We bus our homeless and crazies over to Cali and Seattle. And unlike these super expensive lefty cities, everyone including all minorities have the opportunity to actually buy and own houses, property and businesses. If you make at least $50k+ here you make enough to take out a loan, and buy a small house. People with shit are probably less likely to burn other people's shit, maybe I'm too optimistic but I still believe that. Also our black people are more religious and the black churches are not down with rioting. And there may be something to the whole having police who more represent the communities they police.

And for how I am coping.. binging tv shows, games and a steady office job working from home. Also I armed my household and got training. Oh yeah that's probably another thing, people are armed here. All it takes here is 30 minutes to run the FBI background check thingy, fill out the paperwork and walk out with your new gun. Rioters know people have weapons, probably less likely to fuck with people too much.

100k+ for the places they will absolutely die on the job, probably in the first 5 years

The ghetto pays shit to cops. You want to see a well-paid cop, you find the very safe areas in northern NJ. Bergan County? MEDIAN income of 130,000+ . It's an area with a high cost of living, to be sure. But so is DC and the cops there make nowhere near 100k.

I don't know all the variables. Unions probably play a big part. But I bet that it's also that some places actually want police to do their jobs and can pay. A funny thing happens with cities like Baltimore and Chicago. They cut police funding, get less cops, get worse cops, but end up paying more. Why? Because they pay massive amounts of overtime that aren't accounted for in the budget and they have to train 5x as many cops as other places. After a couple years when their contract runs out a ton of cops quit and join a department where they don't have to stand there and get assaulted by peaceful protestors.

I have never encountered one of these people in the real world, only on the internet. Everyone in the real world just likes fishing and hates blacks.

I love that quote. It's excellent. I mean yes, we should provide for the genuinely unable to provide for themselves - the mentally retarded, the horrendously injured and damaged and those in their last days through age an terminal illness. That's the hallmark of a caring society, or one of them.

All around the country I grew up in, in smaller villages which have yet to fall to the ravages of gentrification or ecome sleeper towns, you will often find a row, four or six at times, of smaller, identical homes, some dating from 200 years back. They're called almshouses, and date from when the poor and unable to provide for themselves needed a place to live but was pre welfare state. So a rich family or landowner or church would pay for these homes and the community would look after them.

Perhaps if the US government skullfucked TANFT and these boons had to rely on the generosity and the benevolence to care for them if they were truly incapable, they would quit acting like little brats. And the ones who could shift their arses and look after themselves would have no choice but to do so.

The welfare state plus a group who have been told form birth they are special and wuhz kahngs is a shitty combination

Also that fucking spastic on the live stream tittering like a hyena on LSD? You just know that LAPRing failure to launch has been practising that manic giggle on his own time in the shower.

Portland: a mattress is on fire.

Mattresses are a white supremacist dogwhistle! Did you know that mattresses were originally created so that people of color wouldn't have back problems from sleeping on the floor? The white supremacist colonizers needed the POCs to have strong backs so they could keep picking cotton.

Oh yeah, I remember someone on Twitter saying that the SCOTUS' DACA decision means the president can rule by fiat (whatever that means) and just dish out a bunch of executive orders if they wanted to, and that's the closest America can get to a dictator.

According to the SCOTUS, if I understand it correctly, Trump can't undo Obama's DACA Executive Order ... just absolutely because. (Because Roberts is a cuck.) Which, since that is now precedent, means whoever replaces Trump can't undo Trump's Executive Orders. That is, as a recent example, Trump's replacement in 2024 cannot suddenly allow for Critical Race Theory (Cultural Marxism) to be taught to Federal Employees.

It's an ungodly stupid SCOTUS decision unless there's aspects of it I don't understand. Trump could literally EO anything he wants into law and the only thing that could stop him is Congress (which is defunct).

Oh god now one of them is bitching about being "misgendered". I blew yogurt out my fucking nose laughing at that.

Congratulations. Well done, This is what happens when you tell women "you can have it all, just dump your baby in childcare at 6 weeks and go back to work, let the media and schools and the internet raise your kid. You don't even need a man if you want!!! Here, have MOAR GIBS cos you chose singleparenthood!!"

No, the DACA decision had basically nothing to do with the fact it was an EO. Biden will be able to reverse any EO in theory. Furthermore, EO's need to be eliminated because the executive should not have as much power to override the congress as they currently do. Similarly the Judicial Branch should not legislate from the bench. Stay principled.
