What species of tobacco? I've been thinking of having a few plants of it myself.

I'm actually not sure what species. I was given a bunch of seeds by a friend about a decade ago that he got from his semi off-the-grid father, and I never thought to ask what they were. Tobacco is super easy to grow though, it's basically a weed. Just watch a couple youtube vids on how to prune it so they don't all flower. You only need like one or two plants to flower, because a single fruiting tobacco plant will give you literally thousands of seeds. I know sustainableseedco.com is legit for getting seeds (ordered from them once when I thought my seeds were dead from sitting in a closet for too many years). Starting early indoors and making sure you have nutrient-rich topsoil is very important. You can plant late if you can't plant indoors, but your plants will be a bit stunted in size. Nutrient-rich topsoil is absolutely critical though.

Swiss chard is excellent if you've not grown it before. It works great in salad and is tasty way to add fibre to meals like curry and stew. It also roasts beautifully.

Edited to say, on the roasting, also golden beets, and shallots. Onions are also fun to grow and if dried properly will last all winter. Sprouts are grand too, but for me you cannot beat a fruit tree. I've a couple and they're the gift that keeps on giving.

I've tried growing that but the groundhogs and bunnies like it as much as I do, and they move faster. lol About the only leafy greens I can grow that stay unmolested is kale, which makes me wonder if kale is really meant to be a food.

Seriously absorbing all this stuff non-stop can take a toll and you need to go off and find something that will let you blow off some of the steam on something that you can't finish in one sitting.

All of them raised their hands. I'm in Europe but we have the same issues here. Free dental care to illegal immigrants that native retirees can't afford after a lifetime of paying taxes.

I also recall several candidates addressing the audience in Spanish. A common trope among dissidents here is to say that the social contract has been broken. The state has decided, without mandate, to disregard the interests of its citizens in favor of pandering to illegal and/or economic migrants, mostly with the aim of buying their vote with benefits paid for by our citizens.

There is no longer any reason to adhere to social norms or act altruistically. Apply for benefits if you're eligible, evade taxes if you can, transact only in cash so far as possible, extract as much value as you can while giving as little as you can in return, look after your friends and family but be indifferent to the plight of strangers, don't put down any roots and if you're able, plan to emigrate. In the US, planning to move to a state that isn't fucked up might be an option. That's the type of society that they've created.

Just be careful you don't make the mistake I initially did... when you dig up a bunch of grass, you are pulling up the topsoil and the grass roots are dug into it. The layer below the grass roots is not very nutrient-rich. If you dig up a patch of grass, shake as much soil loose as you can, and buy as much topsoil as you can afford from gardening businesses to replace it. The soil three inches down does not carry much nutrient and your plants will be very stunted, even if you apply miracle-gro or whatever. Grass hoards the best soil, and doesn't give it up lightly.

Ah, see, I'm gonna sound like a bore, but kale roasts really well too. I do it with sesame oil, real pepper and smoked sea salt. It has a really good, moreish flavour and texture not unlike crispy seaweed. I tend to do it with roasted sprouts done the same way, and some kind of meat - last years christmas dinner was beef wellington, yorkshire pud, roasties, carrots, roasted kale, sprouts and pancetta and chestnuts.

This is me and all my neighbours, almost everyone I know, etc etc. BLM and their commie ilk haven't dared come by where I live after week 1.
