Keep in mind that while in theory one might be able to overcome BPD through therapy (which is what people seem to think Faith has), in reality it practically never happens. That's what makes BPD so frustrating to deal with, the very nature of that particular beast renders it nigh impossible to make the client truly wish to change and without that total commitment it simply won't happen.
That said, while there does seem to be some neurosis at play I am not going to sit here and claim that Faith is borderline. In spite of what a few self proclaimed health professionals on these forums seem to imply, you simply can't diagnose someone without face to face sessions and doing otherwise is a pretty big ethical no-no.
BPD is an exceptionally extreme disorder, and based on Faith's current actions, along with the Vicker's chronicle of events, it would difficult for me to believe that she suffers from it, as opposed to another personality disorder. If the Vickers said that prior to leaving, Faith once banged her head so hard against a wall that she cut open her head or something of that nature, I would be more inclined to think she suffers from it. Being a manipulative asshole, in that of itself, is not trait unique to BPD.
That being said, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Faith suffers from some form of serious mental illness. When Kiwis say "BPD," I read it to mean "some sort of Cluster B disorder" rather than BPD specifically.
