Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

Whitewashing, at its most basic, is making a character more palatable for a western audience by westernizing them or even making their skin white. It's racist because of it erasing fundamental aspects about a character, and by extension, the artistic vision an author/character designer originally had for them, as well as any cultural influences that took place.
It's literally no different for blackwashing, except now it's making characters black and Afro-centric rather than what they were before. To do what? To make them more palatable for people who are black.
There's nothing wrong for being able to relate to a character over aspects such as skin color and culture at all. However, to go to such lengths to do so just because "there isn't enough black media" is just silly at best and extremely racist at worst. However, I believe that Kiana is doing it for the more malicious side of things. She most likely drew them to start a ruckus in the art community and seek validation for her bigoted views.

Colorist is for when there's shit between darker skinned people and lighter skinned ones within the same "racial group" (e.g. Black Americans where light-skinned-black is considered more beautiful than darker skin).
Think Aunt Viv's recasting on Fresh Prince.
It's all so exhausting.
Wasn't she actually recast because the original actress was a huge cunt to everyone?

No need to assume, when her activity over the past few days is exactly that. While she's deleted comments hours after making them to cover her tracks, she's spent plenty of time engaging in slapfights on twitter. She's dragged random folk in front of her thousands of followers to "expose" them as racists and publicly shame them. Plus, the expected RTing/liking of everyone following her blackwashing Mario characters trend. She's obviously been searching "Kiana" and "Peach"/"Daisy" on the regular.

I think this person's icon scares me even more than the post. What the fuck is that?

So I decided to browse for more.
Also this is how the "artist" draws herself.

jesus fuck, imagine willingly depicting yourself as an autistic toddler. I guess the fujoshit is self aware?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think she's doing this because it makes her happy and others happy? That's a cheesy thing to say but I watched her art stream and she seemed to be friendly overall and doing it just for good fun. She doesn't come across as a SJW to me or particularly annoying- so it is hard for me to see her as doing it out of malicious intent. She's willing to explain to others her POV in comparison to giving a passive aggressive response that most SJW's tend to do. (In my experience they usually don't explain at all and give out insults.) Since she actually took the time to explain her point of views she doesn't seem as bad imo.

The RTing just comes across as supporting other people and indulging in something she enjoys. Again, if i'm not getting something feel free to let me know- but I don't see how she is doing anything that bad? There are a lot worse people out there making worse art, with much shittier attitudes alongside it.

So it wasn't because she got pregnant?

I hadn't heard the pregnancy part before, but it looks like that was the cover. Whether or not that's the actual reason, hard to say, but it could've been un todo un poco. So we each get a point lol.

About the trigger warning post: Twitter have this weird trend of "fiction affect realize" copypasta threads. Do anyone notice that this same argument mainly rant on 2D media. It's always discourse over cartoons and anime/manga, it sometimes happen with live action media but it's always about 2D fictional characters.

It's always confuse me how some people rant how anything bad in fiction(mainly sexual content) happen to 2D fictional characters, it can affect the real world and normalize it when society don't see cartoon characters as serious like them.
Earlier on in the thread, someone mentioned that fandoms are religions now and I think this whole "Fiction affects reality" crap is further evidence. People take fiction too damn seriously.

SJWs "fixing" other people's art is also something I heavily despise.

Screenshot taken from this video here, it just caught my eye while I was letting YouTube run in the background and thought the case above might fit here.

Edit: I just noticed she even mentions the farms, this thread specifically, in her video without understanding how the farms work. Oops. :)

I got curious and looked into this person's "webtoon" series their doing and I think I see why this girl tried to throw some shade at us.

The webtoon itself screams the SJW thin privilege mantra with the main character getting anything she wants practically for free when she finds an app that makes her thin.

But that isn't all - some of the artwork in the story is a little suspect to me, like these panels.

I can't help but feel that this girl potentially traced some of the panels. The only reason I'm saying this is because when you compare the above to this:

The difference is quite noticeable, like the body not really fitting the head in the last pic.

I see what you mean. The eyes from the first picture also seem to have a completely different style than her other characters. But I have no idea where to start looking at stuff she could have traced - otherwise I would dig a little deeper into it.

Found her other accounts.

She's definitely an SJW because of how much she posts about racism on her twitter - no doubt us laughing and redrawing the art that gets posted here struck a nerve with her. What caught me off guard is how inconsistent her art looks. Compare the webtoon to her work on Instagram for example.

I am getting some vibes of Eri from MHA, mostly the head and face, but possibly other things too.
