"Drugs are bad, m'kay", using drugs can have side effects, and if its not in a controlled manner (i.e. with medical direction/supervision) it can make things worse, like causing respiratory arrest.
He was spitting, which necessitated the spit mask, even after he was handcuffed he was still moving around a lot necessitating the use of physical force to restrain him.
Funny thing is most videos I have seen of his arrest mute the sound, Prude was just yelling at the cops to shoot him, saying he was going to sue them, "give me your gun I need it", and saying he wants to be maced.

IIRC, it's not actually a police shooting in Rochester. Some black guy doped out of his gourd on PCP died while in police custody a few months ago and the footage is now reaching the public and the usual suspects are inciting riots

This guy died March 23rd, the police knew a video existed, yet didn't even bother to pull the officers off the street, release the video, or even acknowledge the guy died.

The only reason any action was taken at all was because Daniel Prude's family attorneys released the video.
