Cool child soldier bro. "I did war crimes but BONE SPURS DRUMPF is the real evil"

You didn't fight for America, you fought for The Complex.

If you were fighting for America we would have won Vietnam because we cucked out at the brink of Victory so that the Cold War could continue.

I don't know anymore.
And when will these liberals and leftists on the far left fucking look up the definition of a nazi, I'm tired of dumbasses comparing trump to fucking Hitler.

I'm sorry, that will always anger me, and I disagree with Trump 90% of the time.
I still give up hope for wishing America to be better, America is just screwed by having a lot of lunatics screaming about their own president for petty and childish reasons. And I still don't like either political sides either, fuck them at this point. I still hate myself for being on the same side that wants to kill people for a simple disagreement and calling them 1000 insults.

Why are Vietnam vets who treat Vietnam as a great and just war always the ones who have TDS?

Neoconservatism emerged out of the ashes of 'Nam. Trump has confronted the military-industrial complex and that makes a certain type of politically liberal vet (typically far from the action, if not an outright chickenhawk) who hasn't reckoned with the failures of the war he fought in feel very insecure.

Also, no matter what you think of Nam, the guy is parading around a child soldier like it's a good thing. That's a war crime and it's way more heinous than anything Trump has ever said or done, even if you hate Trump.

The only way to win that war was conquering Laos, Cambodia and North Vietnam. And leaving behind a lot of corpses.

Or never fight there to begin with.

And we got the worst of both worlds.

We went in there, left behind a lot of corpses..then went home with dead bodies and more national debt, but Veitnam was commie controlled so "WE NEED MORE MILITARY BUILD UP!" which meant a payday for Military Contractors and kickbacks for DC.

We came in on the wrong fucking side.

We should have helped the gooks kick out the Frogs. The North had fought the French, the Russians, we should have said "Drop communism and we'll back your shit" and told the frogs to fuck off.

But no, we had to help prop up the French's colonies.

And every time I see a Leftist talking about how they totally didn't try to dodge the draft and didn't scream "BUT MUH NAM!" for 20 fucking years I want to smash them in the face with a brick.

This is basically what FDR wanted to do. But by the 60s the deep state was well established and has control of foreign policy.

Stop, Kissinger's penis can only get so erect.

I'm gonna be completely honest: I think that Trump is a vitriolic manchild who's definitely said and done stuff that I take issue with. At the same time though, all this fucking hyperbolic chimping about the man has seriously burnt me out. At this point, I just hope he wins so that the left can finally have their long-overdue collective meltdown.

The worst part about this whole ordeal is that either way, the media's not going to change. If Biden wins, all of his failures will be either ignored outright or glossed over as if it's no big deal. If Trump wins, we get more hyperbolic bullshit instead of actual coverage on what the man does.

Funny enough, Ho Chi Minh at the time was pro-American and mirrored Vietnam's Declaration of Independence to the U.S. That all ended in when the U.S sided with France in the 50s and intervene directly into Vietnam to support a corrupt undemocratic government in the 60s.

Even more interesting is the fact that several US rubber companies and a tire company used to refuse to allow the US to patrol their plantations or call in air support within a mile of them, even if the VC or NVA were moving through the plantations.

Vietnam was more about the fucking money and the CIA being faggots than people think.

They retconned him to be a secret gay and hoped nobody noticed how he planned to shoot up Disney World then went with plan b to shoot up a gay bar after finding out Disney isn't as insecure as it looks.

He was a confused gay. Supposedly his ISIS Imam told him shooting up the gay bar where he went for manlove thursdays was the only way to avoid the fires of hell, but I haven't seen any confirmation on that.

The best result we could have accomplished in Vietnam was what we achieved in the Korean War, i.e. the status quo which we were lucky to have even accomplished in Korea considering its proximity to both Russia and China. There was no way for us to accomplish any more in Vietnam without staying there indefinitely which the American public wouldn't stand for.

US was actually winning by the end. In 1973 a armistice was agreed upon after the US airforce was finally given the all clear to level North Viet Nam after Nixon diplomatically made chinese intervention a non issue.
Problem came when Nixon got pushed out of office and US congress rescinded all military aid to South Viet Nam.
Just a year later North Viet Nam resumed the war and with full Soviet backing quickly got the upper hand against South Viet Nam which had to fight alone.
