US Autistic teenager shot by police in Utah - No matter.

A 13-year-old boy in Glendale, Utah, was shot several times by police officers after his mother called 911 for help with his mental health crisis.

Linden Cameron, who has Asperger's, a form of autism, is now in a serious condition in hospital, his mother said.

Golda Barton said she had believed police attending on Friday night would use "the most minimal force possible".

Salt Lake City Police Sgt Keith Horrocks told reporters that the incident was now being investigated.

Speaking to local CBS-affiliate KUTV, Ms Barton said she told the 911 operator that her son needed to be taken to hospital for treatment.

He was experiencing a crisis because it was her first day back at work in almost a year and "he has bad separation anxiety", she said.

"I said, he's unarmed, he doesn't have anything, he just gets mad and he starts yelling and screaming," Ms Barton said. "He's a kid, he's trying to get attention, he doesn't know how to regulate."

At a press conference, Sgt Horrocks said officers were called to a "violent psych issue" and reports that a boy - who they did not name - had made "threats to some folks with a weapon". He added that there was no indication when they attended that the boy was armed.

An officer shot the boy when he tried to flee on foot, Sgt Horrocks said.

According to an online fundraiser set up to raise money for medical bills, Linden Cameron has suffered "injuries to his shoulder, both ankles, intestines and bladder".

"The long-term effects of his injuries are still unknown, but it is likely that his recovery will be long and require multiple kinds of treatment," the page, set up by a friend of the family, says.

According to data compiled and regularly updated by the Washington Post, 1,254 people with a mental illness have been shot dead by US police since the beginning of 2015. This represents 22% of all people shot and killed by police across the country over that period.

STOP RUNNING FROM THE COPS ARSEHOLES.

Isn't it weird how the stories that actually demonstrate how the police have issues with violence as the first resort and could, in fact, do with some improvement - they all have non-black victims? While the ones that get all the attention and press and protests are also the ones where their actions are a lot more understandable?

Are you suggesting there's bias when it comes to how cops and victims are treated based on the race of the victim?

Things are not adding up here. The mother says he was just screaming and yelling but the police were told he was threatening people with a weapon.

Did the mother tell them that to get them to come deal with her child for her faster or was someone actually threatened and the police were called by them or a witness?

If this kid was legit threatening people and then tried to flee my opinion of this incident is different than if the police showed up and he freaked out so they shot him.

Also what brand of bullets did police switch to because I need to avoid that brand. When I put multiple rounds into something my expectation is that the something is no longer breathing.

oh come on this was a child having practically a temper tantrum no need to shoot him.
He must have tried attacking him or ran towards them a few times. Hard to say without any more evidence.
So either the police officer who shot the boy is a moron or there's information being withheld. You should be able to handle a 13 year old boy with just one hand. So moron police officer, or it's one of those stories where the unarmed 13 year old turns out to be a 16 year old with a gun
Tard rage comes with one hell of an adrenaline rush...And hulking out on anyone who looks at them.

Yeah, from the picture (knowing that CNN does like to put best photos that fit their narrative) he doesn't look that big or strong for a 13 year old. No need to pull a gun and shoot, unless he somehow got hold of a gun and was waving it around...which I doubt.
Where's the dad?
Not there/in his son's life, which is why the mother is calling the police. Once boys get to a certain size and age, you need the father there to keep some form of discipline/be the one to physically restrain, especially for a tard who has fits. If you are a petite woman, and your bigger, stronger tard son is having a fit, how are you going to stop him?

Based.

Hope he wasn't black.
If he had been, do you seriously think the article wouldn't have informed us in the headline? (There needs to be some kind of corollary to Coulter's Law for this one, something to the effect of "the longer it takes for the media to disclose the identity of a victim, the more likely it is to be a white male.")

Fuck. Why do people call the police about every issue
Its vague but I remember some of the meltdowns that used to happen the one I remember the most of was the tard from the super low functioning class next door literally ran around the building naked screaming as loud as possible. Surprisingly this wasn't one that involved the cops as he assaulted several students.

There was another time me and my friend called the "Tard breakout".

Literally every low functioning tard got free due to a wrangler forgetting to lock the door, the only ones that didn't make a break for it was the two in wheelchairs. Went to every door they could and screamed inside. Beat the shit out of a few students unlucky enough to be in the hall at the time. I have no idea how this didn't get the police called.

People have this sympathy towards low functioning tards that could be mistaken for a bias easily, some of them grew up to get federally arrested.

Its more the times the cops aren't called over the times they are.
