That's because the left is very good at twisting words around. As soon as something pops up to make Trump look bad, they'll run with it until it dies. Even then they'll try and bring it back to life. Which is why the whole Russia probe is still being used.

That being said, the left will try and make Trump out to be the bad guy, especially if Trump "withheld" information from the public. That way they will be able yo say that they "were right."

1. The recordings were leaked to CNN, which we all know are the bastions of accurate, truthful news.
2. The chyron advertises a "Woodward book" (the book is named "Rage", another red flag. There is a cottage industry of "tell-all" books containing nothing but fanfiction about Trump meant solely to confirm the biases of TDSers.
3. For some reason, Trump's audio is of a different quality than Bob Woodward's audio. Trump's audio is of an "old radio" quality, yet Bob's audio is crystal clear.

4. How and why was Bob Woodword in a position to talk to Trump privately (I presume its private) about the coronavirus in the first place? I don't remember him being on the pandemic team. If this was some sort of interview, then why didn't this come out much sooner?

I'm increasingly on the side of this being taken out of context or even outright fabricated.

Considering what we saw when people were panicking (buying out all the toilet paper and hand sanitizer for no good reason), and considering how the Wu Flu wasn't super Ebola AIDS like it was initially hyped to be, seems to me like that was the right call in the end. And even if he was downplaying it, he was still being proactive in measures to slow the spread as much as possible, even if things would have been considerably better if China would have spoken up about it when it first got out, instead of covering it up until it had already spread worldwide.

God, I still don't get why people keep trying to pin this all on Trump instead of blaming China. China was the source of the Wu Flu, China kept quiet for months so as not to disrupt their biggest holiday season, China covered up their numbers and refused to share any information on the virus, and China bought out medical supplies worldwide and shipped them back to their own shores to sell back at outrageous markup. No matter how you look at it, China is to blame for every death caused by the virus, and yet the TDS-afflicted continue to screech about the bad orange man.

The best part is when you ask them what Trump should have done differently, and pretty much all their responses are either things he already did (travel restrictions), gross misrepresentations of what he did (claiming he broke up the pandemic task force when he didn't), or mandates that are flat-out unconstitutional (making it a federal crime not to wear a mask). Trump wisely handed this decision to the states, providing guidance from the top while pumping funding into developing treatments for the disease. Since it's a big country with a huge variety of locations, each state could choose how to handle things to suit their current needs.

Funny how it's largely the Democrat-run states that have been doing so poorly. Is it any wonder why Cuomo's trying to deflect from his elderly-killing ideas and claim that it's all Trump's fault? If I lived in New York, I'd want his head on a pike for what he did.

It wouldn't even need to be a fake video. Trump established the Coronavirus Task Force back in January, so he was clearly aware that something was amiss well before anyone else. While they were ripping up his speeches and encouraging everyone to go out and party, he was already setting up the framework to respond to this.

There were plenty of people, even on the Farms, who were saying that the reason he didn't march out on stage to yell about the virus as loud as he could is because he didn't want to incite a panic. The fact that we're getting a recording with him admitting that's what actually happened would be fucking hilarious because it would mean that yet again, plenty of people on the Farms were almost a year ahead of the mainstream media.
