Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

“And what makes his wild claims and hopes... He now hopes we don’t notice what he said, or won’t remember, and when he does follow through, or doesn’t do, when follow through, the exact opposite”

Mr. Krabs, do you how do.

That podium frontage looks like something Trump would have — even down to the three stars. Bet he hopes I didn't notice what I said I would wild hopes and do. Follow through.

I'm more impressed by the "Buy American" sign.
Yet another Trump position that Biden is flip-flopping and copying.
Honestly when all this is over and done the Biden campaign is ripe for a Shattered style tell-all book.

It's interesting that he's so gung-ho about "Buy American" considering that he's one of the people who voted for NAFTA in the first place, and he's gone well out of his way to cozy up to China at every opportunity. By the time the 2020 election rolls around two months from now, Biden's going to be wearing a blue hat that says, "Make America Fantastic Again" and his comb-over will be swooped off to one side and painted yellow.

His fascination with becoming a bootlegged Trump is fucking hilarious. He has almost 50 years in politics and his career is so completely unimpressive and has so little worth mentioning that he has to throw every second of it into the woodchipper to try and pretend to be more like the guy who showed up four years ago.

Nothing new for him. His entire career has been peeking and copying the answers of other politicians.

Hey now, that's not true! The Senator from MasterCard has decades worth of accomplishments. It's just that most of them are about making things better for the corporations he serves and worse for America and Western civilization in general.

Trump needs to confront Biden with that when the debates come.

His Future VP, sexchanged Beetlejuice is also a great thinker, but she will lose against Mike Pence...

I am loving the low energy and general lack of enthusiasm from Obama. He isn't even happy in the preview shot. Also quite a lack of endorsing from old boy here... it's like he knows this is a terrible idea.

Or maybe literal cocksuckers just kind of repulse him? But how to explain his relationship with Michelle...

This, it's really interesting how unenthusiastic Obama is. There are a few different possibilities as to the cause:

1. He has very low confidence in a Biden win. All he really cares about is his image and legacy, hence not wanting to hitch his wagon to losers. Other Democrats act in a similar way. If they were confident that Biden would crush Trump and triumph gloriously, they should all be parading behind him so they can share in the glory of Orange Man Out.

2. He's pissed at the Democrats and is only willing to do the bare minimum of endorsing necessary so that people don't start asking questions about "where's Obama?" It's known there's bad blood between him and the party, he was one of the worst party leaders ever with the Dems losing hundreds of seats in Congress and literally over a thousand state-level seats under him and he almost bankrupted the party running vanity campaigns trying to turn red states b;ie.

I'm surprised they haven't found some way to persuade him to help more. A big round of Obama-led Biden rallies might actually attract crowds they wouldn't have to use trick camera angles to exaggerate the size of.

If 80% of success is showing up, then I'd say Biden was giving a solid 80 in 2019, but since corona that shits sunk down to a 35. That's not even a passing mark in the school system.

If Biden wins-- a huge 'if' there, but still, 2 sides of dice roll in terms of odds, it'll go down as the most jaw-droppingly pathetic campaign in the history of campaigns.
Biden's alleged reason for running, right from his opening declaration to campaign, is watching Charlottesville and watching how Trump handled it. He still peddles the 'Fine People' hoax, claiming Trump called white nationalists fine people. Dunno how many kiwis remember, but Trump said there were fine people 'on both sides' but went out of his way to exclude and denounce the white nationalists in particular that turned up. Biden's been lying about this right from the very beginning, and through this lie, has given himself permission to call Trump and his supporters racists.
Its an insidious ploy, and on most of the internet you can't even push back on this lie because tranny mods will claim you're carrying water for Nazis (and maybe you are by proxy, since telling the truth is taking a sledgehammer to the Biden campaign's ideological foundations). You're gonna see more Trump supporters getting attacked before and after election day, and if Biden wins God help Middle America, because that man has power and he's already branded these innocent civilians irredeemable terrorist sympathisers.

But divisive rhetoric aside, what else sucks? His campaign strategy to win the primaries was yelling energetically at debate moderators, and use backroom politics to get every other centrist to drop out. Out of 20 candidates, his only attribute was having a black friend (who happened to be president). As the anti-Bernie, he won by default, and they still kept Warren in a bit longer to secure that win for him.
The irony of the most diverse line-up of candidates in history producing a straight white male as a winner is not lost on me. This WASP has been through everything, and can't name a single policy that's his and his alone. No trailblazing or dignified stands. He's the quintissential safe hedging-his-bets politician. It worked in the primaries but, again, its somewhat hilarious (if unintentional) how voters will pick a senile old man that's also a straight WASP over all the enticing diversity picks. Very thunk-provoking.

As for post-nom? He fucked off outta the spotlight entirely. Dems thought corona-chan's mountain of dead corpses would be enough to stop Trump. Unfortunately its only killed 10,000 people who had 0 known co-morbidities, so the amount of voters motivated by personal loss is gonna be negligable. Coronavirus was a real godsend in getting Joe outta the public eye, but the danger was never gonna have the staying power they needed it to have.
They knew BLM/Antifa would burn, loot, and murder, but let it happen. The media continued to give cover for all this because they thought it'd all get blamed on Trump. However, in a rare case of politicians passing the buck, Teflon Don was right to deflect blame. Mayoral and state-crisis have nothing to do with the feds, and Trump can't save cities who's representatives don't consent to being saved. When pressed, insane Democrats' rhetoric boils down to "The burning will continue until morale improves". If it was a Natural Disaster like Katrina it might have worked, but this is clearly human antifa-led violence with a political agenda. None of them will ever vote GOP, so now its up to Joe, who like IRL, has been absent in the conversation up until now. Trump rightfully asks why Joe turns a blind eye to the clear negative consequences of rioting, and Joe for 3 months only encouraged it-- falsely thinking the media could keep all the bad news hushed up.

Voters, most acutely the ones that have to deal with this human refuse, and ruined infrastructure, begin to echo the same sentiments even though Orange Man is Bad, so now Joe is in a bit of a cognitive bind. He can't openly condemn the riots too hard because there's too many Woke muslims, BLM twittertards, and mouth-gaping soys that think the rioters dindu nuffin. He never really reconciled with the Bernie faction, so has to pray their Trump Derangement Syndrome will carry him over the line with them. With regards to Middle America, Joe's been forced to totally jettison his Hitler's Bunker strategy and go out to physically meet people. There's no energy for Joe, that's why there's no rallies (crap campaign managers are probably a factor here too) but Joe has to make an effort to win back voters and remind them that Joe was actually in the Senate during a time when the Rust Belt... actually wasn't known as the Rust Belt lmao.

I genuinely don't think Biden ape'ing Trump is intentional. I genuinely think his open contradictions of prior policies is borne out of panicked focus-testing. Before the riots Biden was gonna get over the line with whatever the fuck policies he was handed by apparatchiks. Now? They know most of it is completely indefensible in a debate setting, which they now have no choice but to follow through on, given the state of things.
They realise a big push needs to happen to get back moderates... and it turns out... independent of even mentioning Orange Man in the testing... all his policies are actually really popular with normal people. Who woulda thought? I'm sure there were crestfallen staffers coming out of focus testing to inform the campaign that, no, Rachel and Robert don't want their neighbourhood torched by communists for any reason whatsoever. They were probably also disappointed to hear they cheered when they saw that compilation of pick-up trucks barrelling past crowds of protestors and ignoring the peace chains.
Biden has no choice but to denounce Trump for his divisive rhetoric, and then copy Trump policies verbatim. It's a vicious feedback loop, because the only policies more popular than Trump's right now are ones that advocate a full-on shoot on sight response.
It's the same story with the Middle East and Coronavirus. Biden denounces talking to somebody and then calls on professionals to get round the table and work constructively along legal lines-- EXACTLY WHAT TRUMP WAS DOING THE WHOLE TIME. It's not his fault Obama sat down with the wrong muslims or Cuomo took the Boomer Remover meme literally.
I get a lot of people were disappointed with Trump's soft touch, but it's really born fruit. Everybody else looks like they follow his lead by advocating similar policies, and it hems in the Left-- because they instinctively want to do the opposite of whatever Trump wants-- it just so happens in this case it means burning down their own communities with vigour.

This went way longer than I thought it would, but to cut a long fucking story short, I shoved a whole bag of jelly beans up my ass
Biden went from being Obama!Lite, to Not!Bernie, to Not!Trump, to Trump!Lite. He has no political identity of his own, and that's carried him a long, long way. But after decades of build-up, his whole campaign has been reacting to shit and covering for his ailing mental state, which in my Big Beautiful Wall I didn't even mention btw. His campaign stands for nothing. It just does whatever they think will be most popular in that moment, and are happy to do a full u-turn instead of questioning whether policies are good or bad before going balls-deep.
It's crazy to think America might elect somebody who can barely string together a cohesive sentence, who's campaign is even more schizophrenic, and despite serial incompetence, can't decide which flavour of broken campaign strategy it wants to pursue 55 days from election day.
Is Orange Man Bad? Maybe, but Biden's looking pretty sallow himself these days, and I can't tell if its from ripping Trump off so comprehensively in such a short space of time, or liver failure.

According to Chapter 5 of "Shattered: Inside Hillary Clintons doomed Campaign" Obama and his staff had doubts about Biden in 2016.

Now it is 2020 and Biden is worse for wear despite... doing nothing? for four years. What did he do in past four years?

Obama doing the bare minimum would be expected since Democrats probably wrote this election off anyway.

Honestly when all this is over and done the Biden campaign is ripe for a Shattered style tell-all book.

Shattered happened because if Hillary Clinton won the book documenting her campaign would be required reading in every college political course.

Biden is just some white dude that naps in the corner while the rest of his campaign staff flails wildly.

While that would be an entertaining read, I doubt any journalist would want their name attached to the "Great Democrat Hope" and how 2020 was an aborted campaign before it even started.

So we finally get a Biden rally in Michigan, and people are coming in to protest his involvement in NAFTA,

How big would you estimate this rally is? It looks like he's taking place in something like a school's basketball field. Also this is in a swing state, so keep that in mind.
Virginia is not going red any time soon. The GOP state party is basically collapsed there. The best bet is that Northam has pissed off so many people that it comes closer than expected, with maybe some downballot effects. But MN is much more likely to go red than VA. I'd even say Oregon is more likely to go red than Virginia.
If the Republicans can start getting the black votes, Virginia can turn into a purple state again. Right now, all we have are polls indicating there might be a higher turnout than usual but they're more like "Trump might finally get double digit support from blacks again!" not around the 40% he would need to flip the state. I've heard Richmond got badly battered by riots but even I don't think that will enough.

At least with Minnesota and Oregon, there are reasons to believe it might turn red. Minnesota this election, Oregon by the end of this decade. But unless the urban areas starts trending red again, Virginia is going to be solid blue after this year.

With Team Biden courting conservative votes, it really makes me wonder just what they're thinking. Both candidates have a mostly solid base, though Biden's is captive while Trump's is willing. Trying to siphon off numbers from a hardened base like President Trump's is going to be difficult and costly. And the captive Biden voters can always decide to simply not vote if and when Team Biden decide to support a policy that is beyond the pale of the leftist agenda.

Maybe it's because this is the first election cycle I've really paid close attention to (I was just really apathetic for both 2012 and 2016), but has the race to the center been this incredibly obvious and banal before?
