Archie Bunker was a man caught up in his whole world changing, coming to grips with how society was in upheaval. He wasn't a bad guy, and he was loyal to his friends, and he backed George up. He was just a normal guy.

George Jefferson was a man that through hard work moved up in society and hard to fit in, not only being black, but being new rich.

Both characters were deeply flawed men who cared about their family and their friends.

They both forgave one another for their mistakes.

Mike Duncan, despite being a typical shitlib politically, actually did a great podcast series on Haiti. The anti-white murderous fervour that contributed to the downfall of the nascent country was not initially present. Hell, they sent a tricolour commission to France with a white guy, a mixed guy, and a black guy. But things went south especially when Dessalines was empowered. The US didn't help, certainly, since they were scared Haiti would encourage slave revolts in the South, so they didn't trade/allow the Haitian economy to prosper in relation to the US. The whole story is fascinating but, yeah, that place is fucked.

Apologists like to claim that they hobbled their economy by being autistically devoted to paying off an exorbitant debt imposed on them by France, and its modern failure comes from Papa Doc and Baby Doc getting propped up by the CIA. So they've already got the counter-argument premade, it's still Whitey's fault.

It must be fun to have all the academics (with a few notable exceptions) on your side.

It's a nice narrative to think that BLM chased out a beloved black police chief who got things done... but I think the reality is a lot more complicated. Maybe more a case of someone who just did a poor job and so didn't have enough support among cops, politicians or activists to stay there.

There's already an example of that happening anyway. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best resigned after the mayor and city council made it clear that they were not going to support the police in any way whatsoever. She was, by all accounts, well respected by the force and did as good of a job as she could while serving under an openly hostile city council and apathetic mayor.

Of fucking course it's coming from "the state with that motto", Civic Nationalists for years turned a blind eye to the demographic change happening over time, first the White NOVAcrats and later the diversity that followed them, and the state GOP would outright attack any hardliner candidates that won in the primaries who vowed to restrict immigration into the State.

And of course once the rural population can no longer vote because they are outnumbered now you get brainlet republicans in other states saying the real reason the democrats are winning is because "democrats are the real racists who are apealing to the racist south" and "the republicans just need to appeal more to the new immigrants in the state". Yes, how dare the rural outvoted Virginians not keep having the state go republican after we purposefully ignored their desperate crys to restrict immigration.

Hell, half the reason I am so cynical about the future is one of the most pro-gun states in the union that was the bulkwark of the South got completely subverted into a solid blue state that is a colony of Washington DC, where statues are ripped down, confederate museums are toarched, everything is being renamed, and conservatives did nothing.

115-117 from a IQ test administered by my colllege professor as apart of a course.

It is in line with my AFQT score putting me at the 93rd percentile.

I am not the smartest person and might not be able to form a counter argument immediately but I can identify how an position is flawed and provide a rebuttal fairly quickly.

Same here IQ test 111 however my old lady scored 110 and she has 4x times the education I have. IQ may be only part of the equation but it's great indicator of ones problem solving abilities. There's social and economic as well environmental factors at play. It's a sure bet to say though if your below average 90-80 your chances at success are very low to say the lest.

If you asked me a year ago if we’d be on the edge of outright warfare with leftists in this country, I’d have said you’re on some Alex Jones level shit. And yet, here we are and I’m honestly wondering how I can make a conscious choice to get out of this tyrannical shit. Archie may have said thoughtless things, but most of them were a product of his upbringing. When push came to shove, he stood by his friends and altered his views to fit reality as he saw it, even if he couldn't bring himself to abandon old beliefs and bigoted language entirely. Archie was written to be the strawman conservative in need of educating, but he was written so well and portrayed with such humanity that people couldn't help but side with him instinctively. Deep down, Archie was a good guy with a flawed manner of expressing himself.

His son in law, Mike, on the other hand was written as a mouthpiece for liberal views, but he, too, was written with an eye for reality. Far from being a saint of Wokeness who could do and say no wrong, Mike was a deeply insecure man who had all of the hangups about women that Archie did. Mike, however, wanted to play the part of a progressive crusader, both for Woke Points and because he believed that the cause was righteous. Sticking with your family and self-awareness were apparently beyond Mike's ability, though, as he eventually runs off with his mistress to a commune.

All in the Family was a franchise that was created to push Liberal views and criticize Conservative values, but in the end it showed that both sides had their flaws, and that people who say the "wrong" things might turn out to be good at heart, while those who constantly preach the Social justice Bible might turn out to be hypocrites. Because of this, AITF is now considered too problematic to be embraced by the left, which now insists that its heroes be portrayed as perfect paragons who are naturally awesome at everything and anyone who disagrees with it to be portrayed as irredeemable Hitlers who should be crucified for badthink.
