Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

After general public outcry, and calls for wide-spread disobedience, LA is walking back the ban on trick-or-treating. So much happy...

Thank god. Adults have multiple years to live their milestones. Poor kids only get a handful of conscious halloweens, one senior year, one prom. The experiences had in youth cannot be replaced or delayed. Are there any studies on how youth forced to live through times of hiding or war has turned out? The fact that all of this is self induced really pisses me off.

I don't want to watch it, but what is it?

Some pregnant woman in China squatting down to give birth on the street. Baby doesn't look too good. These "people" just let that newborn baby lay on that concrete, while someone gets a flattened bag for the mother to rest on. And some of these "people" are smiling. To be sure, Asians often smile when they are embarrassed, as these people should well be, just standing around while that baby could be dying. But life's cheap in China.

Looking at that, was thinking about my three-month-old granddaughter, at this time of evening fast asleep in a nice house in the USA. She was born in an American hospital. Has all her shots, eats, sleeps, poops, pees, and smiles. My granddaughter has a future. God help that poor Chinese baby on the concrete.

Seriously, enough to puke a litter of dogs off a gutwagon. I watched it so nobody else should feel they have to.

Zweibelkonigin - I am surprised so many on this site are still very pro-mask.
I'm so fucking pro-mask that my mask says "Wearing this is stupid. Think for yourself." People seem to like this, nobody's said anything negative, not that I give a fuck anyway. Sure would like to shove that mask up Nazi Newsom's ass.

Believe ALL the governors who put their states under one-size-fits all house arrest did so deliberately and maliciously, as a power trip. Some have backed off. Some have loosened up. Some, like Newsom, Whitmer, and Cuomo are still full Nazi, allowing their lust for power to totally overcome any scintilla of common sense. If you live in CA and haven't signed a recall petition for Newsom, do it. We can't afford another day of this sack of shit, much less another two years.

And a very few used common sense, gave a shit about their people, and never placed their state on house arrest. Kristi Noem, you rock.

Twitter has #TrumpKnew trending because supposedly there was a big "gotcha!" moment where Trump says he's aware of Corona-Chan being a bad thing back in February? I think.
Why is this news?
*I* knew the Corona Cooties was a thing back in February. Why wouldn't the President Of The United States have heard of it?

Of course he did. Everyone in government knew it was going to be bad. There were secret Senate briefings by late February where they probably described it as a Black Swan Event and possible world-ending plague, but we don't know, because the contents of those briefings haven't been made public. A number of senators engaged in insider trading and sold their stocks off when they realized the market was about to shit the bed, and sure enough, the DJIA plunged to around 18.5k, just as I figured it would. Too bad I wasn’t trading options, or I’d be sitting on a stack of dollar bills right now.

In February, the vast majority of the American public was asleep, totally unaware of what was about to happen. Only a select few in the /cvg/ threads had any clue.

Also, this idea that Trump failed to disclose vital information to the public is a farce. He wasn’t the only one. They all knew. And if they all knew, then they all, collectively, kept it a secret. In fact, if you look back through the Twitter histories of the people who attended those briefings, you can already see them pulling cover-your-ass moves by saying the information should have been made public. And yet, even the most basic reading of the situation would lead one to the conclusion that they failed to act on those concerns.

These fuckers rely on the short memories and short attention spans of the public to push their agendas through. Don’t let them. Archive everything.

probably dead baby
I'm more creeped out at the fact of how easily the baby came out and how the mother was just walking around. Labour takes up to 18 hours- enough to outlast any crisis and go to a hospital and force the mother to go down from the sheer pain, while this is seemingly instant. Also how the baby came out grey.
There's so many 'wrong' things adding up here that this feels so detached from reality

I have resisted buying a home for many reasons...until now. Seriously considering buying something in an outer suburb or semi-rural in the next year.
Here is the thing about buying a home.

90% of people buy a "house" because they think it will magically improve in value and they can leave it to their kids as some sort of investment..so they buy something bigger than they could ever use, that they can't afford and then end up in debt forever trying to maintain it.

Buy a house as a tool. A tool for something to be permanently over your head. Do not buy a tool you don't need. Do you plan on being married and having kids? If not you don't have a need for a massive thing with a bunch of bathrooms and bedrooms.

Would you buy a Tank to drive back and forth to work? No..buy the right tool for the right job.

Plus, how bad would it have been for Trump to rush out and announce that a disease that could be the end of the world as we know it was upon us, without at least the beginning of a plan of action decided? Can you imagine "Hey American people? There's a terrible illness here, I have no idea what to do about it so stand by for information."
Everyone would have either ignored it or lost their minds from panic. I see nothing wrong with Trump and his advisors talking it over for a short time before addressing the nation with it.

I still say that if people can riot in the streets and not die from the Coof, then other people should be okay doing non-terrorist activities. There's something odd about the way it's being handled.

Thank you for that. That sounds horrifying.

You don't know me. You don't know my life.
For real though, how does one even find small homes? It's like McMansions ran through and destroyed all the small ones.

Look around you man, look at the 6000lb+ curb weight trucks clogging every lane, street, and highway. The personal tank has been the best selling vehicle on the domestic market for practically a fuckin' decade now. There is no sense to consumerism and there never will be.

I would actually buy a real surplus tank to drive to work, not regularly, but once in a while as a show of force (to management). I wouldn't however buy a 3 ton piece of bastardized Chinese HSS and aluminum unless I spent 8 hours a day making money with it, and even then a 1/2-1 ton pickup isn't the most effective commercial vehicle.

I think my goodwill and tolerance has finally reached the limit and now I understand why Hitler was able to rise to power. I think if more people understood why they were on lockdown in the first place they would be a lot angrier.

Don't watch the video I have attached unless your heart has truly been hardened. I don't mean that in a try-hard edgy sense, there are some things in this world that you cannot unsee. Saw a bunch of you getting squeamish over some faggot blowing his brains out because his dog was there, don't even bother. I spent a long time thinking about if it was something I should save or not. In the end, I saved it only because my disgust was trumped by anger, I feel like people need to understand what they're dealing with. These people are soulless.

Wow. Just plopped out of a twat and already smacked their head on the pavement. That's a neat trick. You know that's going straight in the stew pot (NSFL!), right?

You know, I HATE masks, I think they do more harm than good...however, I respect those who choose to use it. What gets into my shit list is when they want to force me and other non believers of "ze mask doctrine" to have it on and then paint us as infidels uneducated morons at best and threats to "security" at worst.

Those are the people that really suck. I consider myself middle-of-the-road on masks and I really can't find it in myself to care when stories pop up of people like that getting their asses kicked because they got in someone's face over them not wearing a mask. They have no place telling other people what to do or not to do and they carry the judgement way too far. Not wearing a mask doesn't make you the spawn of Satan. And I get sick when I see stories about ~anti-maskers~ that've died of the virus and these ghouls are in the comments celebrating and going on about karma and other bs. It's disgusting and it's so hypocritical to celebrate an innocent person's death when they're trying to make people feel guilty about 'but you're killing Grandma!!111'.

Every time I rant about it to my folks they keep telling me that "We aren't the only ones" and "The silent majority" and so on in regards to having enough of this constant bullshit. But as I keep telling them over and over that that's exactly the problem, that the majority is silent. That exact silence is what has allowed these little dictator wannabes absolute power. There were more than enough chances early on, even midway through, to tell them to fuck off but it's far too late now as most people have been brainwashed into compliance no matter how badly everything falls apart around them. And now any attempts to do something is too strongly opposed and we're stuck in this perpetual toilet swirly of an existence.

I get that the average Joe doesn't want any trouble and will take the path of least resistance if possible, but that type of attitude has proven more costly now than ever before as the public continually bends over and takes every single dicking these monsters give us time and time again.

wait till it tips over and the majority isn't silent anymore. otoh I don't think we're have it in us anymore, we're way too complacent for that now. it needs to go real bad before that happens, and then it's probably way too late anyway.

Tell you what, I read somewhere that if your speedo or shorts cant stop a fart from coming out into the surface, a mask cannot stop a virus from going through. The mask is to prevent shit like moist and other tiny things from the mouth of the doctor from landing into the open hole in the patient's body during surgery (its why they are called...surgical masks)

except the speedo stoops your wet fart literally spraying all over the place. it won't stop the smell or gases itself, but it will stop particles a certain size. same way a mask does because the virus isn't just free-floating in the air. same reason for the whole social distance thing, droplets + gravity means you're breathing in much less of that shit.

the problem is, they aren't wrong. you're wearing the mask so your shit doesn't spray all over the place, others wearing a mask is safer for you. they are just going about it the wrong way, and all the retarded mandates don't help either.
look at it this way, I much rather board a crowded subway with everyone wearing a mask than without, because I know people are too stupid and lazy to sneeze/cough into their elbow or just stay the fuck at home if they're sick. however it's no reason to nig out, that won't change anything. I'll just not use the subway, not much else I can do.

Most people can't afford to stay home when they are sick, which is the real conversation we need to be having in the USA

Yep I wonder why that is.

*cough doubling the workforce by allowing women into the workforce but not letting men stay home*
