Netflix's "Cuties" - The Preteen Sexual Objectification Equivalent of "Funny Games"

So... I watched Cuties.

Anyone who tries to use the argument that this movie's message is that sexualizing children is wrong; respectfully, that's bullshit. This movie is steeped in the sexualization of young girls. It is glorified and celebrated.

There are constant closeup shots of the bodies of tween girls in skimpy outfits. Tween girls twerking; grinding on each other; humping each other; slapping each other's asses; miming fellatio. Tween girls lying about their ages to flirt with boys or talk dirty with boys on Omegle, and both times freaking out on the girl who exposes their true ages.

This movie has a scene where a tween girl gets caught using a phone she stole from her uncle, and begins to undress to seduce him into letting her keep it.
A scene where a tween girl posts a picture of her vagina on Instagram.
A scene where a girl blows up a used condom as you would a balloon, then sticks it in her shirt to pretend she has a huge rack.
A scene where a girl's leggings get pulled down during a fight, revealing her panties.
At one point, the main character gets called up to the front of the class to solve an equation on the board, and a boy slaps her ass, then says it's her fault for posting nudes online.
There is an entire music video featuring closeup shots of girls' boobs, butts and crotches while they twerk.
There's probably even more that I've left out because my brain is trying to block it out.

Aside from the constant barrage of child sexuality, this movie is also steeped in toxic femininity. Girls constantly bully each other and get into fist fights. We're meant to sympathize with these characters and want the protagonist to befriend them, but they're just so trashy and scummy.

From a technical standpoint, this movie was poorly edited. Scenes abruptly end and often don't flow into each other. The Cuties go from bullying the main character to being besties with her pretty much randomly because the editing is so choppy. There's no real ending. Poor sound mixing.

I feel like CAP Alert clutching my pearls over here, but this movie was seriously gross and I feel like I should be on a registry for watching this. If the true message really is supposed to be the dangers of sexualizing young girls, it's very muddled due to the pervy camera angles and shots of tween girls humping each other. This movie was made to titillate pedophiles and normalize children dressing/acting like whores, plain and simple.
Thank you for your service.
Christ on a stick I've never seen Jeremy this angry
I try my damnedest to avoid hating people and to give them the benefit of the doubt. But every day, I seem to find a new reason to despise anyone calling themself a Journalist™️.

It's scary how entrenched people are in politics that they will support child sexual exploitation just because they believe it's the other side that opposes it and this is unquestionably child sexual exploitation. No matter their reason for doing it, it is what it is. There were people behind those cameras being directed to zoom on the children's body parts. There was an adult telling those girls to shake their asses, smack each others asses, feel themselves up, etc. The girls were trained by adults to dance sexually. This is all child sexual exploitation.

So for anyone who watched this. Is there any reflection scenes that's suppose to cause pause and show how bad the acts the girls engaged in were? The "I guess we aren't so cuties" type nonsense. Or do the girls just dance, credits roll and the audience feels disgusted with themselves?
Only one scene or so where her mother reprimands her and they try to heal and pray for her and the scene at the very end during the big dance where she cries and goes to her home and decides to quit being that way. They're not even really reflection scenes though, they're just standard punishment sorta scenes which are inevitable with this cliche plot. The characters don't have enough depth to make them reflect on the events in the movie so when it does happen it's not really genuine, it's simply just going along with the plot.

First Moviebob, whose next for the endorsements for 'Cuties'? Uncle Paul Hargis?

[Uncle Paul voice] Ssssssssssssssssssssure. Oh, those ding dang French, they ripped off my idea for a movie! They just got to make theirs, I ALMOST got to make mine, but some little tattletale went to the cops, and then I was told "Mr. Hargis, it's illegal to shoot a movie in your own basement'!

srhbutts, Valis77 amir0x, all the good moral people who know they're unjustly persecuted by the kkk nazis

I've been thinking alot about this. I'm sure I'm not the first to notice and there's probably better names for it but the best i can call it is light and shadow ideology.

Light ideology is one that a person has because they believe in it and it's able to stand on 8ts own Such as;

I think it's vital to have a form of self defense so i support arming the populace.

I don't agree with the practice if factory farming so I am vegan to avoid supporting it

I think a nation is made of the cultural belief so I am anti immigrants unless they assimilate OR I believe every one should have free travel and exchange of culture so I am pro immigrant.

While Shadow ideology is a position taken only to show your opposition to another ideology.

I think only rednecks with small penises want guns, since I'm not one I support gun control

For every animal a vegan doesn't eat, I will eat three haha

Only xenophobic assholes want walls, I want bridges for everyone to show how accepting o am.

Etc. It's not confined to a particular right or left side/issue but a matter of how you arrive to the positions you support.

It just feels like these days, especially with social media more people are engaged in shadow ideology where they only engage a position to show their opposition to the other side then their own realized beliefs.

Everyone is a great big phoney. Thank you for attending my Ted talk.

Europeans are usually more looser with their sexual morals.

I think unless Islam takes over Western Europe, it's gonna get worse. Unless there is some strong sense of moral authority or social cohesion, this will grow. The Europeans and Canadians are importing the lowest denominator subhumans from Africa and the Middle East, the kind of people who would get hanged in the motherland for being criminals. Trump has delayed that shit here but under Biden, expect that same shit. And many people are apathetic and don't care if the nation dies.

This shit is being pushed by decadent elites who want it all normalized. And they have a big hatred of traditional morality. Douglas Murray may be correct that this is a long term backlash against the enlightenment.

Tim Pool may be right that this is not going away even if Trump got elected. We keep hearing the phrase woke and broke, but stuff gets even more insane each day in the entertainment industry. They are being willfully bankrolled by people who just want it normalized on purpose and don't care if they make a loss. Like Mini Mike who keeps financing those gun control groups in states he has probably never set foot in.

AKA "I made a movie which sexualizes young girls in order to own the people sexualizing young girls or encouraging them to do it".
On tomorrow's news: "I burgled someone's house in order to prove burglary is wrong"

And people say the makers of Cannibal Holocaust are hypocrites.

Read the article but it doesn't seem to actually say what these regulation of the Internet benefits were. Can someone spell it out for me what Obama actually specifically did that benefits Netflix?
Sorry I am super late on this, but I dug up this Computer World article that hopefully can explain it better than I ever could.

So what year year do you guys think the first mainstream film to have an 11 year old laying on a bed nude and spreading will be released? At this rate of fucking degeneracy I'd say 2031.

Technically already happened in Madolascenza. It was Eva Ionesco when she was 11, its blink and you'll miss it but definitely there. Eva gave interviews when she was an adult about how badly this along with the pictures her mother took of her and her inclusion in an issue of Italian Playboy when she was 12 messed her up.

Whatever the director's intentions, this is not justifiable in any way. Even if they managed to film the girls in a way that the girls didn't realise was as provocative as it was (such as the whole Bijou Phillips/Larry Clark thing I mentioned earlier in the thread) they've exposed those girl actresses to this backlash that will damage any hope of an acting career in the future, as well as setting them up as a target for creeps to follow around for the rest of their childhoods.

I'm going to watch it a bit later, I find this kind of thing morbidly fascinating and I want to get some idea of what the director was attempting to do before she fucked it up so badly.

What's Murray's reasoning here? I could see someone arguing this is the result of the Enlightenment. I don't see how the hatred and decline of traditional morality + values considering the Enlightenment is in part a rejection of traditional morality + values.
