I've been wondering how in the hell do they select a jury for such a high profile case as this? Surely everyone called in is going to be aware of various details of the case already and in this case probably have a strong bias in either direction.

AFAIK what he's describing is no pinched nerve, assuming its all hands and feet, since he described both in plural. An injured nerve basically hinders signals from the rest of the limb downrange, sometimes the symptoms show up elsewhere but not in all your hands and feet. A spinal injury could affect both feet but the hands make it sound unlikely unless he broke something high up and turned himself into Christopher Reeves.

It's what eventually happens when all your nerves are taking damage over time. You can also get similar symptoms from damage to the brain, which is unlikely to heal.

With uncontrolled diabetes (excess sugar is toxic to nerves) or alcoholism (literal neurotoxin) you see this creep up on people over months or years as nerve damage piles on, it starts with periodic tingles, which progresses to pain then numbness, at the same time it's traveling up your hands and feet and progressing towards your torso as it gets worse.

For it to happen suddenly is pretty serious, unless this guy got poisoned or has severe diabetes I'm going to go out on a limb and say its acute alcoholic polyneuropathy of the nerves or Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (wet brain), and he has a short window to get an iv full of B vitamins (especially thiamine or b1) if he wants to have some recovery and I'm not going to be the one to tell him.

TL;DR Without more information, I think he gave himself alcohol poisoning but I could be wrong.

XR (Extinction Rebellion) are like an even more narcissistic version of antifa causing serious disruption and chaos wherever they go. They tend to be more upper class (read middle class or above) than antifa, and are more successful in life. Doctors, lawyers, that kind of thing. Not all of them obviously. One thing defines them though, just like antifa, their absolute and utter belief that they are fighting the good fight, that they have the balls to do things mere mortals don't, and that without them, the planet will not be saved. They are real life super heros. They also have a very high female to male ratio (white wahmen of course).

They recently shut down a printworks because they didn't subscribe fully to their agenda. They are militant. They also have a flair for the theatrical and well-planned protests which is why I called them narcs. Look at me, look at me! They spend a lot of time building props - it's just one big live theatre show to them, while ordinary folk can't get to work and have to put up with their disruption which has lasted days at a time in previous protests. They really do think they are something special and all of this is just one big fucking game.
