On the one hand it was obviously going to take time, whatever they report has to be verified, they report it in CA and since Ralph is in VA and I don't really know what process that would go through but whatever they have would need to be corroborated by the authorities there, get the original messages from Discord or whatever service was used, so yeah not an immediate process.
That is, if what they had was something valid from the start, I guess Mrs V is focused on Faith's birthday which is understandable and wants to prepare for that.
All that said, I wish they would have said nothing to keep Ralph sweating, but I do believe this is coming to an unavoidable conclusion, no matter what Ralph does.

I believe Ralph's parole or probation or whatever it is ends February of 2021 (not 100% certain), so they have until then to get Ralph the most serious punishment possible. If they had something substantial I would assume Ralph would be Tyrone's bitch by now, so it's probably something that's more morally outrageous than it is illegal. You need to rethink your strategy Mr. Vickers because telling Ralph he's going to jail and then him NOT going to jail is only going to boost his ego.
