Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

While it's still fresh on everyone's mind: Remember that time Joe Biden said that he predicted the 9/11 attacks the day before they happened, even though one day prior he was saying the exact opposite of that? Contrastingly, Trump wrote about the dangers of a large-scale attack worse than the Trade Center bombing being carried out over a year before 9/11 actually happened.

Well before they became political enemies, Joe Biden was still lagging behind Trump and had to steal other people's ideas as his own.

...And not a "gababibbity bibi y'know, the whatsit..... C'MON MAN" in sight.
Still his usual lies and grifting, though.

As for people speculating that CNN et al would be concerned about a post-Trump world - I'll put it like this ;
If overseas media empires with fingers in the US Market pie, are hyper focused right now on this, you'd better believe the US ones are. They're very worried about a potential Kamala presidency, she's basically a black hole. Literally, I suppose. The 24/7 news cycle needs fuel and they know that a new war would be unbearably unpopular.

Do I think that means they want Trump in for political reasons? No. I don't think anyone cares if Trump's in or not, they can still subvert like they've been doing the past 4 years.
The people who want Biden in are the people behind Biden - your AOCs and the gypsies running his campaign. However, their machine is breaking and the curtain is catching fire.

Politicians talking about what they keep in their pockets doesn't have a good track record lately.

If Hillary's hot sauce and Jeb!'s turtles couldn't get them past Trump, I don't think it's a good move for Biden
Plus all of that is pretty weak when you consider that President Trump keeps cash in his back pocket.

This seems like the shit that happened with the Scoob leaks on /co/.

There's probably a few skewed details, but it seems reasonable, I will not take this as fact however but it is pretty detailed.
When Trump wins in November, I can't fucking wait to see how quickly Joe is put in proper senior care or keels over. They're playing a long game and I don't think they have a script for the aftermath in a loss.

At this point it feels like Joe is trying really desperately to appeal to the more popular issues as a way of going like "H-HEY GUIZ I'M T-TOUGH ON CHINA TOO! PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!"

I'm not really sure we can say it's Joe wanting anything. I'd be shocked if he had any real control over his campaign or it's content as far as planned shit goes.

This is getting absurd. Is this an op? Are they planning on pretending Trump is changing his stances to be more like Biden in the debates?
At this point the thing I want to see most during the debates is Trump drilling him on any of these newly changed stances. It'd be the political equivalent of 'So you like <band>? Name 3 of their albums'.

Biden: "I never changed my position, what are you talking about?"
Moderator: "Mr. Trump, you aren't allowed to speak directly to President Biden, if you speak out of turn again, we'll cut your mic."
Trump: "You think this is going to fool the American p-"
Moderator: "We warned you."
Kamala doing a very fake Biden imitation: "We warned you! hahahahahahahahhahahahahaHAHAHAHAhaha"
Biden: "Is it applesauce time yet?"
Kamala: "Who let the retard near the mic?!"

With how often that his campaign calls a lid at 9AM or even earlier, it's all but officially admitted that Joe Biden has full-blown dementia. Dementia patients have good days and bad days, with the former getting less and less common as time goes on. The fact that we're screaming into the homestretch and his campaign is still going, "nope, 9AM, Joe's not doing anything today, go away." is just a tacit admission that he's having a 'bad day' and they don't want anyone to look at him.

It should be the hottest part of the election cycle where he's lining up one event after another. Even with the COVID excuse for avoiding having large amounts of people gathered in one spot (Hey don't laugh, Joe could probably fill a small school gymnasium), what's the excuse for calling a lid on the entire day and not conducting more Zoom calls or doing softball interviews with propagandists journalists?

If Joe Biden and his campaign don't need to worry about orchestrating and organizing large gatherings for political rallies and can just focus on small-scale events and even Skype calls, why aren't they doing that? What the Hell is Joe Biden doing with all of that spare time if he's capped off by 9AM?

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but assuming trump does in fact win this November, what are the chances that they'll pull a JFK on him?

As one who remembers JFK's assassination quite well, I've reflected on the same thought. JFK was pretty universally popular. We had a picture of him in our living room as did many families at that time. The President (presidency) was very respected throughout America.

Today? Not so much. Politics and media have shattered any respect that holding the office as President of the United States once held. One need look no further than the absolute bullshit heaped upon Trump the last four years. I've wondered how he hasn't just said fuck it and walked away.

While Trump is not JFK, he does have a loyal fan base and I can't help but believe assassinating him would throw this country into a state of civil unrest, the likes of which have never been seen. When JFK was sniped, everybody believed it was the Russians and we were on the brink of nuclear war. Daily hide under the desk drills, don't look at the flash. This wouldn't be the case with Trump. The finger would be firmly pointed at the Dems and it would be very likely a lot of Dem bodies would hit the floor as retribution.

JFK's assassination changed America. Trump's would, too, but in ways I don't even really want to think about. It would be horrendous whether you love him or hate him.

he might be getting confused and then his team just has to roll with it rather than admit a fuck up. The public perception of his mental ability isn't great right now, they have to double down on whatever retarded thing happens to come out of his mouth.

Yeah but Pence strikes me as someone more "establishment", and is thus easier to control. Trump seems like more of a threat because he doesn't take shit from anybody, he's not a traditional politician. Maybe I don't know enough about US politics, but from my perspective, the Democrat machine would be in a better position if they had to face the same Religious Right they did back in the 90s and early 2000s.

It's interesting because as a Republican politician that for all we know is in fact actively religious, it's very possible that hard-left types hate/fear him more than Trump. They just don't usually focus on it. Remember, according to these guys he'll give every homosexual in the USA electroshock-assisted "conversion therapy" if he ever becomes President.

That's not even including the backlash from the Republican party at large. I'm pretty convinced that right wing death squads are a distinct possibility if that comes to pass.

You have to remember that even groups like antifa are organized from the top-down. A Trump assassination does nothing for Democrats, and as such they're probably keeping extremist elements in check by mentioning Pence.

"Everything is fine, pay no attention to the crazy socialist old man who's publicly expressing doubt in Biden's ability to win. Nate Pyrite says we're doing fine!"
Pay no attention to the wrinkly old men behind the curtain!

(Also, good job on Nate's nickname there. Fool's gold indeed.)

How did that old Dem saying go? "Never become a fake Republican. Given a choice between a real Republican and a fake one, people will vote for the real Republican every time"?
I thought Kyle Kulinski from Secular Talk came up with that since stated that a lot in 2016.

Also there is this as well. This is a full reverse of Trump's stated position, which is a full withdrawal.

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that he supports drawing down troops in the Middle East but if elected president would keep a small force there to prevent extremists from posing a threat to the United States and its allies.

“These ‘forever wars’ have to end. I support drawing down the troops. But here’s the problem, we still have to worry about terrorism and [the Islamic State],” Biden told Stars and Stripes in a telephone interview.

He also said he does not foresee major reductions in the U.S. defense budget as the military refocuses its attention to potential threats from “near-peer” powers such as China and Russia.

Stars and Stripes has also requested an interview with President Donald Trump.

Biden spoke a day after Gen. Frank McKenzie, commander of U.S. Central Command, said that the U.S. plans to cut the troop level in Iraq from 5,200 to 3,000 by the end of the month.

He said the force in Afghanistan will drop from about 8,600 to 4,500 by November, as President Trump seeks to fulfill a key campaign promise to end “endless wars.”

Biden said conditions in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq are so complicated that he cannot promise full withdrawal of troops in the near future.

However, he supports a small U.S. military footprint whose primary mission would be to facilitate special operations against the Islamic State, or ISIS, and other terror organizations.

“I think we need special ops capacity to coordinate with our allies,” Biden said, adding there should be a maximum of “1,500 to 2,000” on the ground, a smaller force that what he would likely inherit from Trump.

However, Biden said the military should not meddle in the political dynamics of the countries where they operate. He said U.S. forces must be able to coordinate with allies to train and lead to “take out terrorist groups who are going to continue to emerge.”

President Barack Obama, whom Biden served as vice president, abandoned efforts to maintain a military presence in Iraq after the end of major fighting. Obama removed all U.S. troops in 2011, a move critics said contributed to the rise of the Islamic State.

Despite the ongoing operations abroad, the pandemic at home, and increased government spending, Biden does not foresee major cuts to the Pentagon budget.

In fact, he said defense spending could increase in a Biden Administration.

“I don’t think [budget cuts] are inevitable, but we need priorities in the budget,” Biden said.

Republicans have long accused the Democrats of hollowing out the military through Obama era spending cuts, due in part to a bipartisan system of mandatory budget cuts known as “sequestration.”

“Rebuilding the military” through spending increases has been hailed by the Republicans as a major achievement of the Trump Administration.

Biden said, however, that the Defense Department desperately needs to innovate in emerging technology such as beefing up its cyberwarfare capabilities and unmanned aircraft.

“We have to focus more on unmanned capacity, cyber and IT, in a very modern world that is changing rapidly,” Biden said. “I’ve met with a number of my advisors and some have suggested in certain areas the budget is going to have to be increased.”

Should he become commander in chief, Biden said he would press for an inclusive military able to maintain its dominant position as the world’s most powerful force.

He has vowed to better equip the National Guard, which often trains and deploys with outdated equipment and has said transgender people should be able to openly serve in the military.

The former vice president said the largest readiness issue facing the military is America’s strained relationship with NATO. “They’re worried as hell about our failure to confront Russia diplomatically or other ways, and worried about ‘America First’ meaning ‘America Alone,’” he said.

“First thing I’m going to have to do, and I’m not joking: if elected I’m going to have to get on the phone with the heads of state and say America’s back, you can count on us.”
