It isn't even tagged as Blacktober (it's not even October yet wtf) though so what's the deal? So non-black artists get shat on for not drawing enough characters as darker-toned but if they decide to start doing it now because they want to be allies or whatever they still get shat on and called racist (even if you weren't intentionally being performative but 90% of the time thats what this is). Nobody wins with art twitter, it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Does anyone know why they're choosing October to do this anyway? Latino History Month is September thru October but I haven't heard a peep from art twitter about that ironically enough.

True, I think you already lose out the second you set out with the intent of appeasing a particular crowd for validation of 'wokeness'. It's a clear ploy for driving an uptick in their analytics at any rate.

Funny how Woke artists don't use white in their art half the time and instead use pink or a gross yellow hue. Coincidence or actively avoiding white even in art?

The left hand has the middle and ring finger merge together and the right hand has a missing finger. How much inbreeding occurred for this thing to be made? Laziness to learn anatomy≠'muh style'.
A random pink line going across the top of the hair? Is that meant to be a highlight line?
When the picture is turned to the side, you can see how crooked it all is. The eyes don't line up with the ears, the mouth is too far to the left and why are their moles near her eyes?

iifc blacktober became a thing because people wanted to do inktober without supporting the creator

long story short there was drama a while back because the creator was copyrighting inktober. however people where heavily misinformed and the creator wasnt tying to copyright the name or all art under inktober but the logo. however twitter being the beautiful community it is decided to not look further into the drama and made a bigger deal out of it than it was.

however with the whole blm thing going on and people pandering hard it was co opted into a tag where people draw or blackwash characters.

Some of this shit's just offensive. Sure, some people do get really fucking unlucky and end up covered every inch in dark freckles, but they were given a hook nose because why?
