buying real estate is nothing like the other shit you mention
paying mortage is preferable to paying rent, and real estate is the most permanent and secure asset you can possibly own
If that was all people were doing then I would agree, but I've never not seen somebody drive themselves further into debt "Improving" on their investment because "having a second bathroom will make the house worth even more!" "Do I need a second full bathroom for the 2 people who live in our house? NOPE but we are doing it anyways!"

an inability to save is one of the most disgusting things that's come out of the conSOOMer movement. the amount of people who complain that a single unexpected bill destroys them when...they buy all of the most frivolous shit constantly and never put anything in their bank accounts genuinely disgusts me. but it's gotten to the point where people believe that they're being forced to pull their credit cards out at gun point to buy the latest funko pop or else they'll be socially destroyed forever, like they never left elementary school or something.

It is not even that, it are people who have to "own" 3 vehicles when the only place they go is work, or buy a "new" car that do the same.

So no, I don't care about skin colour or background, but my interactions with shitty black people have always been more nasty, spiteful and vindictive than my interactions with shitty white people, so I am now wary. It's the same principle as being bitten by a dog. If it happens, you're wary thereafter. I am doubly wary given I know that these people can, do and will pull the race card if they can as a way to get out of trouble and to avoid facing repercussions for their shitty behaviour. Seriously, can you honestly blame anyone for feeling so?

Shitty black people are also getting ever more emboldened by current events. That woman on the plane is one example, and I've experienced it in my personal life. There's a guy who lives in low-income housing near me who's been panhandling in the neighborhood for over a year. My refusals never resulted in anything until early August when he accused me of hating "niggers", his word, not mine. Now I keep a lookout for him so I can cross the street or turn around if I see him, and it figures that now I'm acting like an actual racist because he's decided to escalate. (It also annoys me that the dumb motherfucker is panhandling his own neighbors. Even the completely sketchy people who live in that building don't do that.)

Sad but true. I have a friend who texted me saying they were said about "Another black man getting shot in front of his family." I shut that down right quick. I don't even care about powerleveling anymore. My friends can take reality whether it's bitter or not.

The hysteria over "lynching" a few months ago really took the cake. Both the deaths by hanging in California were definitively proved to be suicides, and I haven't seen any of my woke friends walk that hysteria back. I'm sure they still think it's open season on black people, as though we're all living in the Jim Crow era.

It is the shit that ends with 60-70-80 year olds working entry jobs after they retired from their career because they never saved, social security doesn't pay enough to cover their mortgage, their taxes and basic expenses and now you have people who can barely walk having to spend 30 hours a week making ends meet because they were sold a lie about what the "American Dream" really was by the same fucking people who are now saying "BLACK LIVES TOTALLY MATTER" after spending the past 50 years doing everything possible to absolutely destroy the black family.
Listen here motherfucker, there's no need to directly attack my dad like this!

[real estate stuff]

I don't want to derail the thread so this is my final post on it, sorry.

My work in real-estate is low level gruntwork and I hate this industry and am getting out of it soon while I have what is left of my sanity. Lots of real estate is HORSESHIT and I posted a video earlier from Louis Rossman. I'm actually biased against real estate. There's a lot of magic and bullshit that goes into a lot of real estate, nickle-and-diming in small ways by the banks in ways I wish I could talk about but would give away too much about me, so on and so forth.

The get-rich-quick schemes, yeah, that's all bullshit. Real estate is NOT a guaranteed investment, you are correct, and anyone selling you on that is a moron. You've always subject to market conditions, externalities, risks, etc with any investment. Buying a beach house in a hurricane-prone area is a idiot investment. Buying a property in a "gentrifying" area is often a good move.

As long as you're not a moron or unlucky, though, you will at least break even. This is better than holding onto cash which will depreciate in time. Even better than a savings account. My neighborhood is clearly on the up, it's a Latino area where all the hispanics are making their American dream come true and consequently this sketchy neighborhood gets better ever year. The city has started putting money in this area, too.

Real estate is not inherently a bad investment. You're thinking about flipping houses and that's not what I'm talking about.

Is just a joke. A true joke. However, he's not innocent in his woes, like many of his generation.
To keep the thread on topic, he told me there was a protest in my small hometown over this shit but it didn't escalate into anything and the cops aren't backing down from any troublemakers.

He says one high school student tried to do some arson or something, idr, and she got nabbed. I don't know how that level of crazy got into my hometown of nothingsville but that it's that invasive scares me. People are losing their fucking minds across all age groups and demographics.

Land, guns, and gold. That's what I got taught, but not necessarily in that order.

Guns; to protect the land, so you can bury the gold on it.

The Minnesota Peace and Police Officers Association represents over 10,000 officers in Minnesota. They pulled their endorsements of any DFL candidates in the state due to their lack of condemnation for John Thompson.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Nurses Association endorsed Thompson yesterday.

The Governor is reportedly “considering” removing his endorsement of Thompson but has not decided yet.

Some Minnesotans are talking about not paying state taxes next year. This would be very interesting to see.

A mob chased one of the four officers and his attorney after the hearing yesterday morning, then hit the truck they got into.

A jogger was arrested and charged federally for arson of the Target headquarters during the suicide riots.

Justice Department press release

MPR requested records of communications between state and city officials during the initial riots. They did not release the raw records, only an article about them. Thousands of Minnesotans called the governor’s office during those days to demand the NG. The initial plan was to have the NG deploy over the weekend instead of on Thursday when they arrived in Minneapolis. State and city officials were going to let the cities burn for two to three more days. Unbelievable.

Officials were also going to send the NG in without live ammo until a credible threat was made and the FBI notified the NG.

I was taught at some point in my youth that you wanted to have land so you could grow your own food. Guns were tools to hunt with and maybe protect the land and people. Gold? Meh. Keep money in the bank in an account that gives decent interest, maybe get an IRA or some EE bonds.

Interesting. I disagree, but then again I've interacted with successful people who looked different from me and avoided druggies so I suppose I'm missing information. Who's more trustworthy probably depends on the situation.

I don't know much about the 1990's anarchists, I'll have to look them up. It sounds like the alt-right is less racist than the alt-left in a way. Nobody getting preferential treatment is what's fair and race realism can be embraced while acknowledging the nuance of genetics and embracing meritocracy, I've been doing it for years.
When I say race realism what I mean is people are tribalistic.

If you are not of my in group then you are greenlit for me to do whatever I want to do to you. Thats the mentality of most people.

you're not doing yourself any favours when you link an article that repeats a BLM style chant within it's first few lines of text like a broken record, thinking that it's supposed to be some kind of a speech, especially when your next point of call is to just call whoever's disagreeing with you a sociopath.
Nonsense. BLM does not go around saying 'this is not one of those cases' because it thinks ALL uses of force by police against black men are wrong.

The article in question is written by a police officer and represents the general opinions of cops who, unlike people who just looked up "use of force" on google, actually do this shit and know the difference between the standard media overreaction (Blake, Michael Brown, etc) and an actual fucked up use of force. They know what it looks like when a cop in trouble versus when he just doesn't give a shit. These are the people who normally defend actions taken in the moment by police because they know what it's like to have to make those decisions in a split-second. Typically this places them against the media, politicians, activists and no-nothings on the internet.

But now it places them against no-nothings from the right who are just as uninformed as BLM but are just using motivated reasoning from the other side.

I think it was Anominous that posted that he hated feeling like a bootlicker by defending the reasonable actions of police against the insanity of the left, now I have to feel similarly confused because the right (or anti-left) is just as unreasonable in its attempt to paint any police action as justified, even when you won't find actual cops justifying it.

Has it never occurred to these people to focus on helping the people they’re supposedly fighting for instead of causing confrontations or trying to gain converts? And best of luck to them trying to convert /Pol/, they’ll learn all sorts of shit that will ruin whatever brainwashing they’ve had. One look at a “trans penis” and you’re never going to support trans rights.
Good gawd. I'd never thought to search one before. I've seen better looking tur-duck-ens before, sewn together with baling wire. Utterly horrifying

I know a friend who didn't want to go to a doctor for a health problem because they didn't want to spend all that money. They have no insurance, I get it. But then they turn around and spend hundreds of dollars on kickstarter crap or other unnecessary things and I have to wonder if they have no preservation instinct.

I make very little money right now but I made sure to save a little of what I make. It helps. I'd like to try getting into stonks sometime but I still know very little of how it works.

1990s anarchist s were against globalism, NAFTA and the like.

You know trumps platform.

Give actual, upfront racists power because they hate SJWs as well.

Okay.
The thing is, they're not as racist as they seem. Many use racial slurs to refer to groups or specific individuals who behave like stereotypes. The slurs can also be used in a neutral way depending on context. If you're a non-white who behaves well, smart alt-righters won't think poorly of you. The ones who genuinely judge people based on skin alone... well, frankly, they're dumber than the people they rant against.

I'd rather neither the alt-right or the alt-left have power but if we must pick one or the other, I'd rather go with the alt-right.
