I am VERY dissapointed that Nick hasn't been burned alive inside his cell yet. I mean I thought that pedos were supposed to get mangled by the other prisoners once they were locked up. There has to be at least one crazy violent mother fucker with a soft spot for kids somewhere in that place there just has to be :(
I dunno dude. What if they try to burn him alive only to have him come back Freddy Krueger style with poop for fingers?

He'd try to rape Anna and Amber in their nightmares. (:_( But I don't think they have access to fire in prison, short of smuggling flint and steel, cigarette lighters, matches, etc.

Is "media" allowed in Pennsylvania courtrooms? I'd love to grab a picture of Sick Nick after a month in the pokey but I dunno if the courts let you film proceedings.

Pennsylvania, like many if not most states, prohibits the use of any recording devices in courts. The trial court judge can make exceptions, but the parties can object.

The fact that the case involves the sexual abuse of a child would make that very, very unlikely (and possibly specifically prohibited by law though I don't know for sure).

I bet the main reason he was afraid to answer the door was because he thought it was the cops coming to arrest him

If only I could have gotten to see his reaction when they really did come a-knocking. He probably started shrieking and/or tried to hide before they came in and detained him, and then afterward probably made a childish suicide attempt and thus that was why they placed him in solitary.

IIRC the article said he was arrested without any incident and seemed aware of why he was being arrested. He probably folded very quickly.

No, he hasn't.

I doubt they have any more current photos. First time he'll be out around normal people with an opportunity to be photographed will be his hearing in June, which as people have said, may get waived entirely.

He's not going to be leaving the courtroom outside police custody so there will be no opportunity to photograph him. On intake to his long-term home in prison, there will probably be an intake photo that will be public record. There will also be a sex offender registry photo.

Are the sex offender photos done at incarceration or release? I ask because iirc there was something in NY about wanting to not publish them until release to protect them while in prison or some shit.

I believe that varies by state. In Oklahoma, it's done upon release, for the same reasons as NY. I dunno what Pennsylvania's procedure is. I imagine they made him shave. Prisons don't allow inmates to have beards. I recall some Muslim prisoners suing over that policy, so I think there's a religious exemption, but Nick wouldn't get one.

I imagine Nick has lost his mind at this point. He's been locked up in a little cell for most of the day, he's forced to practice basic hygeine, and he's probably terrified of being released into the general population. I'm sure the guards have told him what happens to sex offenders in prison if he didn't already know. Even though he lives in his own world, he's gotta be aware that the evidence against him is pretty damming, and he's pretty much in prison for the next several decades. His aunt may have told him just how far up shit creek he is.

I believe the registration requirements kick in when they actually matter, i.e., when the offender is required to inform the state of any changes in their residence, living arrangements, employment, etc. (When you're incarcerated, they know where you are.)

Here's an example page for an offender. (I chose one who is on the front page of the site because he is a fugitive, rather than single out some random guy.)

As you can see, you can actually track particular offenders and have the site email you updates on changes in location, etc.
