U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

One of the dumbest things I've ever seen regarding police brutality was on FB a while back involving a white woman. There was a pic of a cop who was attacked by someone with a knife. The situation escalated to the point where the cop would've died had he not shot the person (he had multiple large gashes on his back). The white woman in question said that he was in the wrong and irresponsible. The dude saving his own life showed, in her view, that he valued himself over the people whose lives he's supposed to protect: essentially that his job trumps even self-preservation in a scenario where he's being attacked.

So are social workers supposed to let themselves get killed too? Or do you just have to do mental gymnastics to make sure your boogeymen can only ever be boogeymen?

PA: Police are leaving in vehicles and turning to "go around the block". Hopefully we'll see a kettle soon.

Edit: Riot cops appear to have regrouped at their original location. Dumpster is still on fire but no sign of the state troopers that left the police complex yet.

Cops are doing something, some cars just went around the corner. Hopefully what they're doing is THEIR JOB to apprehend criminals.

The simple solution is to stop policing poor and minority areas. Let them do what they want to themselves, because trying to intervene on behalf of one POC victimized by another POC will just trigger a riot.

If they just let Jacob Blake commit sexual assault, and a lot fewer people would've been hurt in the aggregate. Only respond to calls in middle class or better areas, or white majority areas.

If someone is stupid enough to be going around attacking cops, I don't want them around me, and if that involves putting them six feet under I'm fine with that.

It's sad that these "protests"/riots have essentially poisoned any actual discussion one may have about the insanity of American police forces for the next decade at least. Now any time someone tries to suggest maybe taking away some of the police's toys to avoid their steady slide into Judge Dredd Lite, they are going to get lumped in with these nutjobs.

If I were a bit more conspiracy-oriented, I'd say that's the overall point seeing as these riots kicked off just as the nation seemed to be reaching some actual righteous rage over police killing people indiscriminately but one dead drug addict later and all that has been swept under the carpet of history. Sadly, I think this is just political theater that got out of control and the mainstream keeps doubling down.

If anything it's giving quite a direct lesson in why things are the way they are.

The only thing that I've seen that should change is getting rid of no-knock warrants (or making them insanely hard to get, grand-jury class or something, or feds).

Gun control is now also a dead issue as well, thanks to George Floyd.

No-knock warrants need to go but there's certainly the issue of police being way too trigger-happy. I remember that there were at least two police killings almost immediately prior to Saint Floyd being martyred that were basically completely ignored by the mainstream which involved police raiding a house and shooting the people inside on a whim. Both were white as I recall.

Every time I turn on one of these streams there's some guy screaming about raping the cops' wives.
Gosh, I thought antifa were supposed to be the ones liberating women and fighting 'toxic masculinity'

The Jacob Blake thing literally happened because his babymama was afraid he would sexually assault her, as he did before. That's why the police were called.

The woke thing to do would be to simply let her fend for herself.
