You see, some of the people in the "we hate child molester" groups might be nazi CHUDs so you can't express any opinion that might agree with them. I'm reminded of how you had goons complaining that they couldn't get into World of Warcraft because both opposing factions of World of Warcraft are so broadly defined and diverse that there are probably nazi CHUDs in both factions, so anyone they played with might be a nazi CHUD.

Or not. On a related note, I noticed in QCS that the staff have taken to privately contacting suicidal goons and trying to make sure they're okay. Taking responsibility for the mental health of its user is a great policy for an internet forum to have, and I'm sure this will go beautifully for Something Awful and won't lead to lawsuits when some mod AFKs to piss in the middle of trying to talk down a troon who has his exit bag on.

Also, going through the Lepers Colony, it looks like the mods have been trying out threadbans. On this site, threadbans are code-enforced and from what I've seen are a common way to stop people being weird in a specific thread. Something Awful's staff have the same idea, though the site's code is too shitty to actually block people from posting in a thread.

So the mods are improvising.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around opening up about any personal issue online such less suicide-where you really should be speak to samaritans or somesuch, why would I ever tell anyone anything private? Can you imagine pulling that shit here?

Even before that I remember that my mom and teachers at my primary school would constantly tell us to be careful about the shit we share online. I always assumed most people my age would've been raised the same way as opposed to all the modern day tiktok/instathots but I guess stupid is gonna stupid.

People who got into internet after 2008 are not very good at realizing how much they can fuck themselves by simply being too open about themselves. I think this whole site is a testament of how much of an issue it's become.

Fun fact Goons are currently so bad at covering their tracks I casually notice them here or on other forums. Even ex-goons are easy to spot

What blows my mind is that SA tought me to cover my tracks and disclose nothing back in the day.
