The funny thing is that this controversy is going to cause the book to sell really well. It's not like these books were that popular compared to Harry Potter, but now everyone is going to be curious whether the accusations are true or not. Good job, troons, you did marketing for Rowling.

Her book’s getting review-bombed on GoodReads. Not that GR was ever viable when it comes to book reviews, but nonetheless, it’s amusing.

One of these reviewers is so fucking annoying in Bookstagram spaces. Demanded that people take down all JKR and HP material or else they condone murder and will spam people’s pages over it. The absolute worst and made me side with JKR

Man, Harry Potter sure is weird these days . . .

They keep making comparisons to Buffalo Bill in the film The Silence of the Lambs, a fictional guy who was diagnosed as transgender but couldn't get the surgeries he wanted so he abducted women and tortured them into slathering lotion on themselves all day to soften up their skin, in preparation to kill them and make a skinsuit out of female human leather.

Just from the sound of it, the killer in this novel is a transtrender dude who pretends to be a woman so they'll be less wary of him, making them easier to prey on. Not sure how that'll be developed. It goes with JK Rowling being very untrusting of men in general, from what I've seen of her behavior.

Just remember, Buffalo Bill was based on real-life serial killer Ed Gein who wanted to be a woman and killed women to wear their skin.

I think you read the Junior Classics version of the book like I did when I was a kid.
They did, yeah. The full length version of Moby Dick, at least the epub version off Project Gutenberg (which is really dense and single-spaced), is close to 500 pages. The version my grandfather had (the one I read) was like 800 pages.

It's a big ol' Dick.

I’ve always dreamed of a thread for Goodreads power users.
This person is only relevant because they harass and demand their feelings take precedent over anything. Bookstagram is extremely ironic right now because while everyone claims to be free thinking readers, they will destroy any account going against the mainstream liberal talking points. Post any Harry Potter merch or books? You’re triggering somebody’s feelings and condone murder. Just look at their accounts and you can see what sort of echo chamber they read and speak in

eta- AND there is an IG policing the community under the guise of “letting people know the facts” so they can make up their mind. The Truth of course is only what they come up with and adheres strictly to liberal points. Run by an admitted autist, so.

If you post or review any book that goes against The Truth, cancelled.
