Fanmade Pokémon Designs (Fakemon) - Tracers, garbage designers, and of course, furries

Double posting I know, but this deserves its own post, from the twisted minds of /vp/ and /trash/ bring to you, the

One thing I will give Nexomon is that the plot is kind of interesting, maybe even a bit unique for a mons game. Basically every Nexomon originates from a single evil Nexomon named Omnimon, the king of monsters who came from a different dimension and wanted to wipe out humanity by using Nexomon, but humans tamed Nexomon to fight back, sealing him away.
The twist is every Nexomon is inherently "evil" (ie predisposed to listen to Omnimon only) and will betray humans, so living in peace together and letting them bred to be a mon world was actually a trap to fuck humans over in the long run. Omnimon also has like several direct nexomon children that can TF into humans intending to bring him back that you beat throughout the game, and ultimately the only reason you, the player beat the revived Omnimon is because one of his nexomon children betrayed him as she believes in a world where humans and nexomon can live in peace together so your nexos don't turn on you. I also thought the "Extinction" title was edgy, but you actually perma-kill Omnimon at the end of the ios game, and doing so means that Nexomon will become extinct due to not having Omnimon's power(?) around anymore, leading to the sequel.
To be fair, Gigilith as a concept is kind of cool. A small, very cute pebble Pokemon turning into a giant golem (not the pokemon) that accidentally steps on people.

Granted, Golurk exists, but still.
This is supposed to be Latin America inspired? How did he miss the chance here to at least do a day of the dead skull?
I think the closest thing to that is Latarian Hatterene? Seems to have the skull makeup. Other than that, it is a little strange. Maybe one of the mythicals or legendaries may have it.

Was trying to find that one region based off of the west coast or something, but I found a region inspired by Chinese mythology instead.
By @an_artist_astray, the new Mystic type is introduced, along with its three starters. I'm not going to post everything all at once, but here's the starters.

They're all part-mystic type, which is the first time that I've seen all three starters in a region share a single secondary typing. They're also classified as "legendaries", though it isn't made clear on if they're actually legendaries, or legendary in the Arcanine sense in that it's just the "category" that they're given, and they're not literally a legendary.

I personally like the water type most, though that could just be the fact that it reminds me of Serperior.

I assume this typing is different from Psychic in that it focuses more on spiritual energy than "mind" energy?

That's cool and all, but does he plan on making a fangame involving this typing or what?

>all starters are mystic
>mystic neutral to starter types EXCEPT grass type no longer weak to fire
I guess they're all still weak to each others' mystic type anyway, but still a very weird choice.

Probably not. Most of these Instagram projects build up a pokedex, lore, etc, but usually a fangame doesn't spring up from it unless they directly plan to.
Though, that hasn't stopped some people from making 3D models of their Fakemon, or a whole lot of fanart for it. Startboii made two eeveelutions, dragon and flying.

"Longeon"? Drakeon would've made a much better name for this thing, as it corresponds with its typing like every other Eeveelution's name.

WAY overdesigned. Eeveelutions are meant to be simplistic, and the wings look far too detailed to belong on a Eeveelution. The tufts of fur on the hind legs are also a bit much (though that could just be my preference), and the horn is very out of place. The ears probably should've shared more visual similarity with the tail, so its design won't feel as cluttered.
Anyway, Longeon was apparently Startboii's most popular fakemon.

So much so, that it's even got it's own 3D model and animations.

Yeah, I've never seen anyone go this direction in starters. Gimmicky starters are hard to get right, because a starter's whole gimmick is being a starter in the first place.

IMO only the final evos look decent and the water one the best. I'm sure they're referencing something but to the ignorant eye they look like bland "elemental animals". They all become vaguely chinese and magical by the end so it also looks repetitive.

Mystic is a weird choice because the magical theme is already covered by psychic and fairy. What kind of gameplay would mystic moves focus? Defensive self healing? Doesnt makes sense being weak to itself. It sounds too abstract without examples.

Being weak to dragon is also a bizarre idea from a mechanical standpoint. Dragon as a type is a symbol of super strong/rare mons and powerful wipeout moves (dragon dance, outrage, draco meteor etc), it's not effect against anything other than itself for good reason.

The joke is that "Long" is the chinese word for chinese dragons and it's clearly designed like one.

The idea is fine (more original than generic western dragon) but the design looks weird to me. Why is the tail so long and curly? Chinese dragons dont have curly tails like, it looks more like a cameleon's tail.

Those are some wacky proportions lol. It also looks bland, Chinese dragons are usually flashy (might be fear of overdesigning it).

I dont like that olympeon, the colors are too much. As i said here before, flying type is heavily connected to birds (not clouds) so anything unrelated to that doesnt work for me. I dont like the star eyes either, no eeveelution has that, why would these 2 have it? The unnecessary horn also makes it look like a digimon, especifically terriermon.

Startboii made two eeveelutions, dragon and flying.

As usual, both fake eeveelutions seem to be traced and spliced from Sylveon’s official model sheet, especially the flying-type one, down to the body structure and poses. Typical Startboii.

Has anyone actually publicly called him out for this? Tracers are supposed to be a big no no in the art community.

An instagram account was mentioned earlier that did, but unfortunately it seems to be inactive.
Another well-known tracer is Devildman, who I put in the OP.

Anyone who did call him out would probably be shouted out by yesmen.
You guys know how furries are worryingly common in the Fakemon community? I found one.

The Instagram fakemon hashtag is a wild west, dude.

That thing would make descent at best Digimion, or some random monster for a mobile game. It just doesn't look like a Pokemon at all.
